    Fairest daughter of love,
    I am a slave to your charms;
    with but a single word you could
    relieve my every pain.
    Come, touch my breast and feel
    how my heart is racing.

    "Bella Figlia" is one of my most favorite arias in all of opera, and the quartet is one of the most beautiful as well. Thanks for posting it and giving me an excuse to listen without the temptation of running off into YouTubeLand!!

    It is magical to be in an audience when there is such applause as in the Sutherland-Pavarotti version, when the emotion is rawly palpable. Without going into the excellent reasons for it, before the curtain had risen or the orchestra played a note, there was an instantaneous standing ovation for the extra-special guest conductor at our opera company as he took the podium to begin the overture. It was as loud and as long as the one in the Sutherland clip.
