Thoughts and Prayers Needed

Hi Guys. Normally I'm a lurker but I'm in need of the thoughts and prayers of the many. My partner of five years is currently laying in the ICU of the hospital. Last December he was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with liver failure. The good news was he was home in time for Christmas. The bad news was the cause is completely unknown. Because of this this is his third trip to the hospital in the past six months. This one being the most severe putting him back in the ICU. This one seems to be a nasty blood infection. It has left him exhausted and unable to get rest. It has also compromised his breathing and blood pressure so there is no way to give him releaf without worrying about his breathing.
The hardest part is watching him lose touch with reality from the anxiety and exhaustion. But it has in no way weakened the love I have for him.
With the help of one of our friends we went downtown of where he lives and I picked out two simple bands for the two of us. I am just waiting for the right moment (of being lucid too) that I can surprise him. They are simple bands but they jumped out to me and I want us together good bad, sickness and health

Thanks for letting me ramble bros.

Thats a display of true love, im sure your guy will be happy to get the bands. I'll pray for him to have a quick recovery and for doctors to figure out whats wrong with the liver so they can fix it.

Despite the physical, mental and emotional challenges you two are going through, I am sure that he absolutely appreciate the fact that you're there with him, 100% of the way.

You being there is more than what he could ask for, I'm sure. Hope he pulls through this mate.

One of my best friends wife went through liver failure. It was a long road. She basically "went away" for a couple of years. Gradually fading away into dementia. When she finally got to the top of the list and got a transplant, it was like a miracle. She was just "back." My friend stuck with her through it all (and fought the system to get her the transplant) but it took a lot out of him, too.

Good luck. Your doctors probably have the best guess. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks guys. He always makes a great recovery and bounces back to himself. But then something happens that puts him right back in icon_cry.gif

You're obviously a very good, loving partner. You have my thoughts and prayers for strength and healing for your partner. I like the ring idea too. That sounds like a good idea, and one that is sure to perk him up.

You have my deepest thoughts, along with your partner. I wish both of you the very best; and the if the worst does happen, I hope that his passing is done with you and other family/friends by his side.

You sound like a wonderful partner. He's been a lucky man. icon_biggrin.gif

Love is a special emotion that is reserved for those who are the most deserving. What he's shown you,
you are now returning in spades. May he return to you quickly, stronger than ever, and able to put those rings to good use.
