Just curious if anyone here on RJ is a fan and has had a chance to see him on his tour of America. I saw him here last night in Albuquerque and he was absolutely brilliant. So many nods to previous works, and an entirely new spin on the Star Wars canteen (Mr. Stevens from catering especially). Even his gaffs in the show were comedic gold.

He's the first comedian I've been to that had an intermission in the middle of the show and a Q&A session afterwards. It was an almost two hour performance too. I was fortunate enough to bring along a giraffe (which I accentuated with evil eyebrows many years ago) and scored an autograph from him (the only one of the night).

He's someone I look up to and have emulated (sans his action transvestite stuff) for many years.

Dammit, didn't see this thread. I *LOVE* Izzard's comedy, though I've lost track of his work in recent years.

Thanks so much for bringing this up; it looks like he'll be here in the SF area in a few weeks (during the film festival, for better or worse) so I may actually get a chance to see him!

Does he still offer French lessons in his act? If you saw him a couple of years ago you'll know what I mean.

    Love Him.

    ^ Very much so.

Though on the note of French, he did segue into French and German throughout the evening, and being a polyglot, I got an even bigger kick out of it than most of the audience did since I understood it.

anotherphil, if you can, GO SEE HIM!

I will forever remember that I got something signed by an idol of mine. I wonder what it'd fetch on ebay... haha jk

For some reason one of the random zingers from the show keeps resonating: two weasels covered in gravy, stapled to the back of a tractor...
