We need to all be aware of 'Scamming' on Chat-Sites.
I unfortunately have fallen prey to three persons already. Do not give out personal details like contact numbers or email addresses, till you are comfortable with the person who has responded to your profile. Chat-Sites do not reveal personal details.
Any one can put a profile on a Chat-Site, they can say the sweetest things. They can use any photograph and can say they are from this country or that town. Verified or not. These scammers usually start with the words, "As I read your profile, I was instantly drawn to feelings for you." They never really want to chat on the Chat-Site, the first thing they do is give an email address for you to email to, saying they are not comfortable chatting on the Chat-Site.
Their emails, are always added with attachments of 'recent?' photographs and the emails are always a sort of 'Sob Story', or full of sentimental jargon. Like, "Oh, my Dad died at this age", "My best friend died of lung cancer," "Your profile turned me on..." and so forth.
I was scammed by a person, who's details I will keep confidential. He claimed to be a soldier in Kabul, Afghanistan. He never answered my emails truthfully, always answering in poetic injustice or romantic jargon. It cost me to do lengthy research on US Peace-keeping forces in Afghanistan and I eventually caught him out. His main aim was for me to make a money-transfer of a certain sum. A relative of mine 'Google'd', (Persons on Chat-Sites that pose as US Soldiers) and came up with a whole lot of useful information.
Well the bottom line is, once bitten twice shy, as they say.
These scammers make it difficult for we who use the Chat-Sites to in fact trust anyone. These scammers give Chat-Sites a bad rap.

Once again a hint: As mentioned above. Do not reveal personal details till you are comfortable with the person who responded to your profile (Chat-Sites are safe and do not reveal email addresses unless you do). Be aware of users who use photographs that are out of focus. Be aware of users who, are 'Shy' or discreet and fail to complete their Profile Details. Be aware of users who just add photographs of Torso, legs or arms and cut out the face.
Sadly, these Scammers give us Gay guys a bad name and make it difficult to be trusting or even meet the one you are looking for.
They are out there - Be Aware!

'Be aware of users who, are 'Shy' or discreet and fail to complete their Profile Details.'

Ouch! Hahaha, if I wasn't avoiding drama I would have filled up my profile completely and make all my pic public. Lmao

But yeah, the OP is actually right.

Nah, we don't even know each other. Lol

While his post number indicates he's new at the forums, his profile is relatively new as well. But his words and experience beg to differ, it feels like he isn't that here. I wonder what was his old profile, if he has one here on RJ?
