WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Hawaii residents were the least likely to be obese in 2014, and Hawaii was the only state where fewer than one in five residents are obese. Mississippi had the highest obesity rate in the nation for the second year in a row, at 35.2%.

Mississippi and West Virginia have had the two highest obesity rates in the nation since 2012. Five states on the list have had consistently high obesity rates -- Mississippi, West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas and Kentucky.

    Fatted Republicans. What a surprise!

I dunno. I know neither of these examples are strictly Hawaiian but there's tons of obesity in the South Pacific:

    And "near" Hawaii:

When I was in grammar school every classroom had one fat girl, or one fat boy, or both. If that. And that was it.

Now 19% is considered the lowest obesity rate?

People blame high fructose corn syrup, designer ice creams, processed foods in general and computers, but I blame grunge. That fatass-hiding clothing enabled a generation.

Wait a minute, before you go on your usual republican bashing tirade look at three of the fittest healthiest states South Dakota, Idaho, and Montana. All three of them are red republican states. icon_biggrin.gif

Now we know why the bible belt has so many devastating tornadoes...it's God's punishment for their gluttony.

I suppose we can blame a lot of life's ills on fashion. Conservatism and bow ties, for instance.

But this food thing is so out of whack that now even veggie loving SE Asian countries experience obesity they didn't have before and even diabetes.

But for the fashionista in you, take comfort in knowing that a kimono is still very slimming
