Beware, anyone still using Yahoo Mail. Watch your own account

Unless what happened today was the result of Yahoo's internal servers going haywire, my entire Inbox of emails (already read) went missing a few hours ago. In order to "delete" yahoo emails, one must check the boxes on the left side of the page or more specially, the one box at the top of the page and select "all". I did neither of these, but while deleting some individual emails, checked each box, my entire inbox history got deleted as well, a pop up automated delete box appeared and I could not stop the delete in time. I have notified Yahoo to restore my Inbox history. Again, not sure if this was a hack or Yahoo servers icon_confused.gif

Are you using the yahoomail app or on a computer? That has happened to me twice before using the yahoomail app. They restored MOST of the emails....

    Update:

After putting in a restore request from Yahoo yesterday, all my inbox emails were restored today. It appears to be a Yahoo system glitch (what else is new), for some reason, my entire inbox was duplicated and thrown into the trash after individually sending 2 emails into the trash bin, but when this automatically happened, the number of emails in the trash did not register. The trash folder only registered the 2 emails. So I hit the trash delete icon and a gray delete bar showed up (never seen this before), the duplicate and all original inbox emails then disappeared.

I found what Yahoo was doing, on my second email account with them, it almost happened again but this time when the gray delete bar showed up suddenly, I immediately hit the cancel button under the bar. In the trash folder, I then had to manually select "all" email and manually "move" my entire inbox emails from the trash folder back into the inbox folder, 2 times, cause the first movement "all" did not actually move all the emails. Im like WTF is this.

Either this was a Trojan hack, the duplicate set of inbox emails sent to trash folder or this was a glitch or trick in Yahoo servers, trying to force or trick users into deleting their inbox emails, saving them storage space icon_question.gif Ever since Yahoo created and forced its "newer" version of its mail system onto users (via Internet Explorer upgrades), there has been many many problems. You can still switch back to the "original" mail version but its difficult to find and navigate.

Hint: If you still use Yahoo mail, and your trash folder says it has 5 emails in it, DO NOT always believe this number when running the newer version of its email system. Always check what is actually inside the trash folder before you delete what is in your trash folder. icon_surprised.gif

If this was a hack, I read that some hackers are using the yahoomail app to gain access to standard accounts. I do not use there app, I only use my wired computer terminal. I have never accessed my yahoo mail through my Android phone either of which I have a gmail account, of course.

As you read the constant Yahoo mail problems, someone else just had the same issue icon_evil.gif

I emptied the Trash and it deleted my INBOX ... twice now. Had to manually put my Inbox mail back.

In my inbox today, at least they fixed it icon_confused.gif

On June 6, we identified an issue in Yahoo Mail that may have temporarily removed emails from the inbox when the Trash folder was emptied. The issue has been fixed, and our engineering team is working around the clock to restore these messages. All emails should be fully restored by Monday, June 15, 2015.

If you have questions or want more help with your account, please reach out to Customer Care.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
