I am sick and tired of going to the gay clubs in Houston and seeing straight girls getting more action than I do!!! Why can't they go to their straight clubs and leave the gay clubs to the gay guys. If I wanted to see a hot guy make out with a girl I would go a straight club. Houston gay clubs are really bad with This. It need to stop !! Who is tired of seeing hot straight guys making out with or dancing with straight girls at gay clubs? In Houston most of the male dancers are straight and they are alway all over girls at gay clubs and it pisses me off!!! I hate going out to gay clubs in Houston. Who is with me ?

Get hotter than the straight girls and that won't be a problem.

At least the straight guy being dragged to the gay bar by his girlfriend, with his terrified death grip on her hand the whole time they're there, can be good for a cheap laugh. ;)

More seriously, I suppose it's good for the bar and good for the community to have diverse customers (and I keep getting corrected when I use the term "gay bar" by barkeepers and patrons alike) but I tend to agree with you about the straight guys being there to pick up the straight girls who are there both to be trendy and to be surrounded by attractive-but-sexually-nonthreatening-because-they're-gay guys. Oh well. icon_confused.gif

It really pisses me off and it is not just one gay club in Houston it is all of them. Once more houston has a girl only male strip club and for the life of me I do not understand why girls come to gay bar when they can go there !!!

I really do think that beyond the implied fashion statement it's an outdated notion (possibly subconscious) about the caliber of guys they'll find there. If they go to a straight meat market they'll find obnoxious homophobic creeps, but if they go to a gay bar they'll find obnoxious creeps who don't mind being around gay people. icon_rolleyes.gif

Annoying as shit in New Orleans too. It's not so much the stray girl and fag bag here or there; it's the packs of bachelorette parties. They're drunk, loud, obnoxious, and you'd swear they never say a guy dancing on a bar in his underwear before.

I've even seen women in some of the leather gay bars here in town. Is nothing sacred anymore?

I swear I'm going to open my own gay bar and charge women a cover by the pound. That should keep them out. Nothing freaks a woman out like a weigh scale.

Holding a hen party in a gay club is very disrespectful, especially in places where gay marriage is illegal. Imagine if a stag party tried to go to a lesbian club..,

LA went the same way starting about ten years ago. It would be hard to say Abbey IS a gay bar anymore. Same was starting to happen at Mickeys by the time I left LA for Columbus.

There's no scene at all here to speak of. It's all mixed these days.

The homogenization of everthing. The gay community is sorta like a dog and pony show for these people. But if, god forbid, a gay couple went intoa straight bar in Houston things might not be so welcoming. Better to go to alternative venues that aren't the " in" spot yet. All in all I agree with ya.

(1). A grown adult with an ID, money and peaceful attitude can go where they like.

(2). I enjoy bachelorette parties, it's always a fun train-wreck to watch and the girls are always really friendly and nice. I suppose it's annoying if I have to wait an extra minute in line, but lines happen.

(3). Straight girls are HUGE allies of gay men outside of the gay clubs, from "tsk tsking" their meat-head boyfriends, to hanging out with the awkward gay in high school. After putting in all that sweat equity, it's the least "we" gays can do to let them party and dance in a safe, welcoming place where they're not pawed. Will & Grace isn't a fiction, my closest friends are straight girls (we go to ballet class together, brunch, shop, lay out in the park, etc.).

I think straight girls are a wonderful part of the gay community, and I for one have their back.

So the intolerance that once caused gay bars to locate on the other side of the tracks with side doors and back doors and hardly any signage is now the acceptance of str8s who invade to enjoy gay spaces. I'm surprised any of you looked up from your cell phones for long enough to notice.

Dry humor aside, it's a curious problem. I used to enjoy the bars. I considered them my sanctuary from heterosexuality. I am guilty of one time bringing in a str8 guy back in the 80s I think it was. A cool spouse of a cousin of mine. He wanted to check it out. So I took him to the Eagle haha. Well, just a few moments after getting our drinks I notice his ice is rattling. lol. Normally he's a cool guy but that was a bit too much for him.

And even back then, sometimes would enter some leather dyke or mistress or whoever the fuck she thought she was. She had a small following but that allowed her into the leather bars. I thought that invasive. This bar exuding masculinity, all but that cunt. Absolutely ruined it.

And now our world is being ruined by the very acceptance we fought so hard for. Never mind the cell phones, the lack of communication skills, the Victorian attitudes.

Fortunately, we older guys had all the fun for you. You new gays are fucked.

I disagree with all of this. I work around straight people all day long and even my roommates are straight and most of my friends, when I go to a gay club I do not want to see a hot guy making out with a girl!!! I want a break from the straight world. And a lot of the dancers out here are jerks. They see a girl and they run to them and avoid the gay men. I once saw a guy waiting for a lap dance from a male dancer and the dancer was getting one to a girl. When he was done he has the girl give the gay guy a lap dance. If that would had been me I would have been so pissed off and I would have made that girl get off me.

I really do not like it when other gay guys bring straight girls to the gay clubs. It just pisses me off.

So if a gay couple went to a "straight" bar and made out on the dance floor, and some straight guy said to the bartender: "Man, I hate seeing gay guys make out, everywhere I go it's gay this, gay rights that, I just want a break from it in 'our' bar, the gays can make out in 'their' bar. I just want to be around straights."

You would be okay with that discrimination? Because either you're okay with that discrimination, or you're a huge hypocrite. Seems like a lose-lose to me, but let's see which you select. A bigot or a hypocrite.

Granted the difference between public and private spaces, but even with that it is not a clear cut case of bigotry or hypocrisy to want sanctuary. The hegemony is still heterosexuality.

That, and we have biblical precedence. Wasn't it God who told Moses to tell Pharaoh "Leave my people be."

that never happens, gay guys do not go to straight clubs and make out.
Please tell me a case in which gay guys were making out at a straight club. I will answer you question if you can tell me a time you, yourself, saw gay guys making out at a straight club.

Well I have seen it in London several times but of course there is no such thing as a "straight" bar as such.

Unfortunately I have also seen straight men and women go to gay bars and express disgust at seeing two men kiss. Even though they were wrong to act like this towards gay people, you can see why it puts people off going to gay bars.

Straight girls have always hung out in gay bars, my mother and her friends included. Not a big deal, they are not a threat to you and you aren't a threat to them.

I'm not sure how long most gay bars would last these days with an exclusively gay clientele.

You are wrong ballerina boy. Heterosexual women are not part of the gay
community. In my experience I have met tons of homophobic heterosexual women calling gays maricones, putos, sidosos. Fags, queers, infected with aids.
I work for the travel and tourism industry and the only gay friendl straight women I know are the ones who have gay brothers. Men are not allowed in lesbian bars so thats gender discrimination and nobody says anything

I agree with this!! I hear straight girls said all kinds of mean things about gay guys. I am straight acting so people assume I am straight and I got in to this big fight with a straight girl about a comment she made about a gay event they had at Disney. She assumed I was straight when she made the comment.

I feel gay clubs in Houston should be men only !!

Yeah, complain when Grindr becomes lousy with straight women. Now that it's 2015, bars will always be integrated.

There is no discrimination in voicing one's opinion.

The more likely outcome would be the gay guys would be jumped and beat up later in the evening outside the straight club. I seriously doubt that would happen to straights at a gay club.

I could understand peoples views about how homophobic straight women can be. I have seen a straight girl out a gay bar that had said some homophobic comments to me when I worked with her. Anyhow there can be some seriously homophobic bitches but they all aren't that way.
