"we will not honor any Supreme Court decision [that allows gay marriage]."

I hate to break it to them, but unless they're in a position of power such as a clerk who issues the license or a judge who performs the ceremony, then they have no opportunity to dishonor the decision.

That's like a poor person saying they don't appreciate American Airlines new First Class policy, and they'll take their business elsewhere. Umm, excuse me, but you have never and likely will never fly first class, so your threats are at once pathetic and moot. People seem to be operating under the false assumption that they have influence and power in spheres in which they have absolutely none. icon_cool.gif

That's quite the statement from that collective. I hardly know how to react appropriately to each and every one of them. Sadly, God gave me only two fuck fingers to flip.

Silly Liberals, you haven't read the Constitution which allows for religious exemption and was recently reaffirmed by the Hobby Lobby case.

    FYI Liberals:

2 Jews can't go to a Catholic Church and get married.

2 Catholics can't go to a Synagogue and get married.

2 Gays still won't be able to get married in religious institutions unless the church, synagogue or mosque permits it.

Liberals still won't be able to murder an unborn baby on a church altar.

How many of the State Gay Marriage laws currently force religious institutions to perform gay marriage ceremonies?

Answer: ZERO because it's unconstitutional and would violate separation of church and state.

Liberals: stop calling Gay Marriage, "Marriage Equality" when you have hijacked the issue as LGBT and are discriminating against bisexuals who can't marry a man and woman.

Who says fascism hasn't ALREADY come to America, under exactly these terms? And carrying guns, as well. Falsely claiming, like the paranoids they are, that everyone ELSE is threatening & persecuting THEM.

But that's also a tactic successfully used by European fascists in the 1920s and '30s. They're following the game book rather closely.

Fuck off, you fraud. You don't know shit about the Constitution, nor do you understand this issue. Fucking read something other than World Net Daily. Nobody's getting fucking married in a church that's against gay marriage. Nobody. And nobody's asking to, you mindless fuck. Marriage is a civil issue, and under the purview of civil law.

And murder an unborn baby on a church altar? What the fuck is wrong with you? Get some medication and therapy, you fuckwit.

You are a goddamned native Texan, what the goddamned hell do you know about the US Constitution. 99% of you Texans don't want to be Americans in the first place so chances are most of you hicks don't give a flying fuck about the US Constitution. 'Y'all' probably think that your fascistic Texas state constitution overrides the U.S. Constitution which would not surprise either me or the majority of other Americans the least bit. You come from the most anti-US and the most unAmerican state so you are in no position to lecture us about the US Constitution. Now stifle yourself, that is a lawful order.icon_mad.gif

A group organized by antigay pastor Rick Scarborough vows to defy any ruling by the Supreme Court that recognizes same-sex marriage, even if it means they have to go to jail to defend so-called "traditional marriage."

And in a surprise twist, an email plea for donations invokes Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law.

The group claims to have more than 44,500 signatures, which are being collected on DefendMarriage.org. According to Scarborough, those who signed the document “will accept any fine and jail time to protect their religious freedom and the freedom of others.”

The list includes two presidential candidates, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee.

Actually, the OT of the Bible explicitly supports plural marriage. According to it, a man shall not take the sister of one of his wives to be a rival wife.

    http://biblehub.com/leviticus/18-18.htm

Fundamentalists continually assert that a marriage is only between one man and one woman, but the above proves otherwise.

In any case, no religious organization would be forced to approve marriages contrary to its beliefs.

With Little Fanfare, Mexican Supreme Court Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage JUNE 14, 2015
    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/15/world/americas/with-little-fanfare-mexican-supreme-court-effectively-legalizes-same-sex-marriage.html?_r=0

In ruling after ruling, the court has said that state laws restricting marriage to heterosexuals are discriminatory. Though the decisions have been made to little public fanfare, they have had the effect of legalizing gay marriage in Mexico without enshrining it in law.

“When I heard the judge pronounce us legally married, I burst into tears,” said Mr. Gonzalez, 41. Like nearly all same-sex couples marrying in Mexico, he and his partner needed a court order in order to exchange vows.

As the United States awaits a landmark decision on gay marriage by the Supreme Court, the Mexican court’s rulings have added the country to a slowly growing list of Latin American nations permitting same-sex unions.

Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil already allow same-sex marriage. Chile plans to recognize same-sex civil unions this year; Ecuador approved civil unions in April; and Colombia grants same-sex couples many of the same rights extended to heterosexual married couples

The religious right did not denounce the Constitution- if you read the article.

The modern day supreme court sometimes acts outside of the constitution (the law) - by creating law instead of interpreting law.

In a free country one should be free to do business with whoever one wants.

Yes you have to observe the law of the land, even in a free country. It's always worked that way. Ignoring a law makes you in violation of code.
Getting a law changed is the way to go about it.

Those behind the ad are so self-righteous, so sanctimonious, that it is truly hard for me to understand what kind of internal monologues they really have.

This seems to be their modus operandi:

    1. Selectively ignore all facts that do not support your position (it is often easier just to make up your own "facts")

    2. If that doesn't work, lie and spread fear

    3. If you can't win a fair fight, cheat

    4. If that doesn't work, ignore the rules

    5. At all times attack those who disagree

    6. Try to impose your own views and beliefs on all others, but at the same time feign your own victimhood

Oh, the former Republican House Majority leader, forced to resign pending criminal charges. And the parents who covered-up the child molestations of their son.

    What a winning combination!
