NYT: The majority of parents of preschool-age obese children described them as “about the right weight,” a recent study found.

When I was 70 lbs heavier, even my doc told me I "seem to be" a healthy weight...till he noticed a weird beat in my heart and gave me a complimentary EKG...results came up as borderline atrial fib. Then he decided that I'm borderline obese and need to "give up coffee or start exercising."

Been exercising ever since. Ain't nobody taking away my coffee! icon_mad.gif

This is true! My mother failed to acknowledge my sibling as obese! Lol She says my sibling's just a little chubby, despite the doctor from checkup says the opposite.

This drives me crazy as I spend time with my nieces (5 and 6) and their peers, or even just at the supermarket.
HELLO?! Your 6 year old is waddling like you do... just maybe... that's not good?

Maybe it's because the parents are so fat they can't see past their bellybuttons.

Yeah, I see this in malls and places where an entire family will be, including dad. And they all look equally inflated. They also remind me of the roly poly toys they had when I was a little kid.
