NYT: Jeb Bush told a gathering of religious conservatives on Friday that the fight over same-sex marriage should continue on “irrespective of what the courts say,” signaling that he would not consider a Supreme Court decision favorable to gay rights as the last word on the issue.

He's just a Pied Piper trying to attract people who are lost in the fog of primitive religiosity, i.e. Christians.icon_rolleyes.gif

But he will likely get a lot of people to follow his pipes.

And encourage States to simply ignore the Supreme Court, destroying the Federal concept of the Union, as well as to push for a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting same-sex marriage, including banning gay civil rights. If the US Constitution is amended to ban same-sex marriage, it trumps the Supreme Court, and cannot be overridden by the Court.

Thank you, Jeb!, for letting us know early what a homophobe you are. And those who support you here, on a gay site. Bringing into question their own true orientation and allegiance, if not sponsorship here.

I do think the Supreme Court will make gay marriage Federal law.

2016 will be very interesting. One side looks like it could be against this ruling (and planning to overturn it) while the other supports marriage equality.

People will now line up on one side of history or another with their votes regarding nominees during this civil right battle.

Just imagine: Do you think you would be on the right side of history with other civil right causes in the past?

We should push for acceptance of all Biblically endorsed forms of marriage. Of course that includes plural marriage. Many of the OT heroes had more than one wife; some had many wives. However, the OT does tell us not to take the sister of one's wife to be a rival wife or to have a mother and her daughter as wives, so there are some restrictions. There is nothing in either the OT or the NT that prohibits having more than one wife except for bishops; they are permitted to have only one wife according to one of St. Paul's epistles.

We can see whether Jeb really follows the Bible, as the vast majority who claim to do not. Not that they should, but they should not claim to unless they really do.

Enough with fat politicians . These guys don't have the mental discipline to watch what they eat , nor do they possess the strength to maintain their bodies, and they're going to run a country? This guy should be put in the cage and fed orange rinds until he is at an acceptable weight.
And the only way to keep him from office is if we get out there and vote against him. Let's show the politicians that gays are a voice to be reckoned with! On the flipside I wonder how Jeb would feel about taxing fat people?

He's going to say what he needs to say to get the party zealots to nominate him. Once nominated he'll have to do frantic back-pedalling to make himself appealing to the rest of the population, and he'll ultimately come across as weak. This isn't even an original opinion.

Bush is consistent with the the position held by conservative Republicans -- they will never, ever accept gay people as equals and will continue their hate campaign against us without end.

The Republican position on gay people is remarkably similar to their ongoing racism against black and brown people.
If you are not white, Republicans hate you.
If you are not straight, Republicans hate you.

Lindsey Graham says in the vid: "I believe in traditional marriage.", so he clearly is not as accepting of equal rights as he purports to be.
Of course gay people are welcome in the Republican Party; welcome to be treated like second class citizens.

NYT: In discussing the topic, Mr. Bush made reference to divisive laws enacted in Indiana and other states that would permit some exemptions for people and institutions who say same-sex marriage violates their religious beliefs. “We need to make sure that we protect the right not just of having religious views, but the right of acting on those religious views,” he said.
