Thanks for sharing, Art! Work has been miserable the last few weeks -- I hope to steal a few hours this weekend for SF Pride if I'm lucky -- but I had to check RJ for a chance to celebrate by proxy, if only momentarily. Glad somebody could do so in person.
Thanks! Even as southbeach1500 trashes what I wrote above, in praise of this decision.
Well, we know how HE feels about gay rights.
But I'm listening to the entire Wilton Manors City Commission hailing this US Supreme Court decision. And making a unanimous declaration in support of the Supreme Court decision. Today is "Marriage Equality Day" in Wilton Manors.
I really do love living here, even if southbeach1500 trashes it as a "gay ghetto".
The more what you do bothers and/or threatens the opponents of gay rights, the more you know you must be doing something right.
But then, you've been on RJ longer than I have. I hardly have to tell you that.
True, I hope I expose the gay haters here.
But on a happier note, we're home now. The party continues, but we don't stay out very late. I gotta say again, I've never seen such celebrations in our little town. WOW!
The cars riding up and down honking their horns, and flying gay and HRC flags, is something I've never seen before. Everyone is just hugging each other, guys & gals, tears in their eyes. If you don't yourself live in such a largely gay community as we do, maybe you can enjoy it vicariously with us.
And I'm so happy for older guys, many in their 80s (including my husband). And they're all saying the same thing: "I never thought I'd live to see this." Also with tears in their eyes.
They saw the bad days, which I never did. And now they've lived to see this. WOW, just WOW!
