There may likely be a correlation between birth month and disease as this video suggests. This data however does not translate to astrology. It only says that time of year may correlate to disease rates, likely due to completely terrestrial causes.

Astrology is the pseudoscience of the supposed effects of planetary positions in zodiacal constellations on the time of year of birth. Study after study has shown that astrology has no bearing on what happens in your life.

So, science is not coming around to believe in astrology because of this type of study. The study is not related to astrology, and it is well-known that astrology is pseudoscience.

The title of this post is misleading. That study fom NYC patients did find some correlations for certain diseases,
"For example people born in October have higher risk for four different respiratory diseases [...]. However they also have a lower risk for five different cardiovascular diseases"
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2015/06/15/what-your-birth-month-means-for-your-risk-of-disease/

This shows absolutely nothing with regards to the position of the Earth relative to constellations. Why do I say this? Because this study was done with a sample based at a very specific location of the Northern Hemisphere, so we cannot discard seasonal effects that are more plausibly into play here than do astrological effects - if any, ever.

Obviously weather depends on the time of year. It is entirely possible that the weather during the birth month could have an effect, but that has nothing to do with astrology. In the southern hemisphere, the effect of birth month would be likely to be reversed.

I don't think the majority of belief systems/religions are designed to make sense lol, that's what people don't understand. Astrology isn't supposed to make complete sense either, and neither do the majority of religions, yet people cling to them fervently.

Having a religion or belief system opens up your creativity, and motivates people to find purpose. People pride themselves off of science, credibility, and thinking they are intelligent, when in reality the most intelligent people acknowledge that for every fact you learn, there are infinite more facts you don't know, and focusing on what you do know prevents you from learning.

Consider religion and other methods of belief as mediums of respite, since I can guarantee that almost every person on the planet will go through a period in their life where they question if their existence is worth anything. Also to all the atheists who can go through life without believing in God or feel the need to question on that level, you only don't believe in god mostly because there are idiots out there who believe in god incorrectly, or due to indoctrination, so your belief in disbelief often time stems from a rebellious attitude, which although is quite necessary and respectable, it is still a belief that gives you comfort, and considerably is still a (progressive) religion.

Yeah, the scientists you're citing don't equate seasonal correlations with astrological phenomena. Stop reaching to buttress your bullshit.

This in no way supports the pseudo-scientific fable that is astronomy. Look up the principle of parsimony before you do anymore "science reporting." It should guide your logic in drawing conclusions.
