    The keyword here is "local."

Targeting specific cities that are more progressive and liberal is the name of the game. You're not going to find this type of logo in backwards bumb fuck areas of the U.S. where closed-mindedness reigns supreme.

I would say an even better indication of the acceptance and promotion of the LGBT community are the networks that nationally air programs with regular gay characters who express affection for others of the same gender. And if were to go by this guideline I believe ABC would take first place.

Even though NBC has our beloved Ellen (I'm a huge fan), she's not a lesbian character on a show. She's a talk show host. Although it's great nonetheless that she's open about her sexuality and airs five days a week on the NBC network.

All that you say is true, in my view. But still, this is how we advance, sometimes by baby steps. It certainly made ME smile. And it is seen in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, where millions of people live. icon_biggrin.gif

Last count I ran across was around 6 million people for all of south Florida: Palm Beach county, Broward county, and Miami-Dade county. icon_wink.gif

Paul, you spoiler! I really thought it was more. But OK, just 6 million if you insist.

Gay acceptance is at all time high! I cannot tell you how many calls I received today "CONGRATULATING ME" from co-workers, local politicians, clients, and family members! specially from straight single and married men. And as already mentioned; the key words are "LOCAL ACCEPTANCE"

Is a long time since I've being in a Gay Parade. This Sunday I am going to the New York City Gay Parade to celebrate and spend the day with some of my co-workers and a date!

We should also bath the City Hall in Colorado Springs, CO with those beautiful rainbow lights and watch James Dobson from fanatical Focus on the Family go ballistic. Since my home state of New York already has gay marriage, I would love to bath the landmark 34 story Gov. Alfred E. Smith State Office Building in downtown Albany with rainbow lights as part of the celebration of the Supreme Court's favorable decision. This building is a 1929 Art Deco masterpiece that would look awesome in rainbow floodlights and is the second tallest building in Albany.icon_biggrin.gif

The Louisiana State Capitol building is also 34 stories tall and is the tallest capitol building in the country. It would be great to see it bathed in rainbow colored lights. Alas, we will have to wait a long time for that. Well at least we don't fly the Confederate battle flag as far as I'm aware.

EVERY COMPANY PANDERS. They have pandering departments called "Sales and Marketing". That doesn't mean that we have to be cynical about companies/people that promote us though. It's ok to relax and accept the fact that people want our business and attention. There was a time when they didn't want either....

You can't say anything positive about gays, can you? Will you lose your funding?

Actually there are several states that use confederate battle flags. The stars and bars is only one form. TN is another, but still far from the only other form

Commenting that the NBC 6 logo is not "acceptance" of gays but rather pandering to gays is not making a comment "about gays" at all. But it takes somewhat advanced intellectual skills to see that, something clearly you don't have.

Given that NBC-Miami is in a less-than-gay-friendly area (if you actually lived anywhere near here you'd know that), their logo change was not only acceptance, but rather risky & daring, with a good chance for a Right Wing and religious backlash.

Along with loss of viewers and advertisers. Hardly pandering, when your key market demographic is not gay. It does become more gay as you move up into Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors, but their viewer numbers compared to Miami-Dade County are not compelling.

But again, if you really did live here as you claim you would know that. Reminds me of the time you tried to buffalo us by talking about the local weather. You said it was cloudy and raining. There wasn't a cloud in sight!

So I went to the Weather Channel, and they had it all screwed up, not the first time. Their own radar showed nothing, but their text was erroneously saying rain.

Obviously you went online to get your weather info, to support the pretense that you live here. Well that sure backfired. And so does your present claim that NBC 6 is "pandering" to their small minority gay population.

Well looks like you will not fuck ever again because the hapless Hillary ho is not getting into office. You better change that to "when Bernie Sanders gets into office" if you ever intend to drill your cock into a guy's ass.icon_lol.gif

Makes sense, fucking at 4 years intervals can be pretty tough. I mean just look at SB, this guy used to be bipolar...for the past 4 years we've only seen his bad side tho.
