*** how to get rid of fat around abs without cardio?

I feel I have nice abs but covered with fat. My diet is OK, I eat ONLY healthy fats, olive oil, nuts, fish fats, avocado, chick peas etc, I do workouts for abs including side to side sit ups, russian twist, but....

I cant do cardio or running due to high blood pressure, so any advice on hot to get rid of it?

Put a pressure release valve in your aorta to release some blood pressure, then you can do cardio. icon_razz.gif

(if only it were that easy)

Sounds like you might do better with more veggies and less foods with healthy fats. Fats tend to be used for energy, and if you're not using that energy via cardio it'll still be stored as cellulose (body fat)...even though it's a "healthy" fat.

Where did you get this backwards idea from? Cardio helps LOWER your blood pressure and strengthens the heart.

    From Robb Wolf

Effective, lifelong fat loss is easy with Paleo foods. We recommend the majority of your meals look something like this:
4-8 oz of lean protein such as chicken, lean beef, turkey, pork loin or seafood.
Then add several servings of multicolored vegetables, either raw, steamed or lightly cooked.
Finally, round out the meal with good fats from Avocado, olive oil or a handful of un-salted nuts such as almonds, pecans, macadamias or walnuts.
Make sure to have 3-4 meals like this each day. Give it 30 days and then let us know how quickly and easily it is to lose unwanted body fat, all without hunger and cravings.

Until you reach your desired level of leanness we recommend you keep your fruit intake to 1-2 servings per day and make these choices mainly from berries and melons. Keep in mind, you will be eating plenty of nutritious fresh vegetables, we just want you to see the fastest, most effective results you can. This is why we limit your fruit in the beginning to help you change your metabolic engines to a mode of "fat burning".

Lower your blood pressure, then, get active.

Almost certainly, your metabolism is at a crawl.

If you have ongoing high blood pressure, abs at the last thing you need to be worrying about about. Seek a medical professional.

    Nicely put, paulflexes.

    What does your doctor say?

Can you begin with a waling program? Maybe some swimming?

If you are saying that you can't do very strenuous cardio, then ask the doctor about alternatives or ask to be referred to a physical therapist who is under a doctor's supervision.

Abs are about diet as much as exercise.. reduce your carbs intake and eat healthy.. no sugars, limited fruits (lower carbs in raspberries and blueberries than other fruits), chicken/fish, vegetables.. be healthy.. it may also help with your blood pressure.. but you do need to get that under control and exercise will help..

u cant just lose fat on your abs you need to start dieting to just lose fat. The fat covering your abs will probably be the last of the fat to go so depending on how fat u are it will take a long time. U probably think dieting entails eating healthy foods and doing some exercise in which case I cant really help u.
