    Houston Mayor Annise Parker wrote that for many LGBT seniors, the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of same-sex marriage comes too late. The “Invisible Generation” are still suffering under the weight of a lifetime of discrimination. LGBT seniors are 2x likely to age alone and 4x likely to need assistance from their families.

    I hope that it gets built, but built in a design that fits in with the architecture of the area that is in.

    I volunteer at an AIDS Hospice and I left work Friday to spend the afternoon with two of the residents.
    Me and one of the people who works there took them in their wheelchairs to the Castro Theater to watch a series of shorts for the Frameline Film Festival.

    As happy as the ruling is, I cried because the amazing changes of our time have indeed come too late for them. They've suffered through so much discrimination and social alienation.

    So many of our LGBT Seniors lived very isolated lives and are dying much the same way. It's an awful sadness...
