Yeah, I was hoping to find the whole thing on youtube but found just the trailer so far.

It's a topic which has long interested me, how religion has affected our gay psyche. Back in the early AOL days, a number of us used to frequent a room we'd open called spirituality m4m and I recall some good conversations there. We used to explore how religious upbringing & training affected gay lives. And I don't recall specifically but I'd bet that was the first time some of those guys had the opportunity to discuss that, kept so personal yet held at such distance, tearing some of us apart.

    Looks an interesting documentary.
I was raised by two Christian parents, but am an atheist.
I`m struck by how other atheists don`t seem to realize how powerfully motivating religion can be, and how fascinating an insight into human psychology.

My ex, still the one the great love of my life, ended our relationship when he became a born again Christian. This change was driven by the great shame and guilt that he felt over his attraction to, and intimacy with, me -- shame induced by religious attitudes. He said that God had cured him of his lust.

He dated women before we were together, and he now dates women exclusively, but I know he still struggles with his attraction for men.

Religion, guilt, and shame are all terribly destructive for LGBTQ lives.
