zakariahzol saidUnlike other tourist place in Thailand like Pattaya (Boy Town), Phuket, Bangkok (Patpong 3) and even Chiengmai , usually there a section for gays and those sickening stuff of sleazy Thai Boys for hire...
Apparently Thailand has been a destination for US men looking for sex with young boys, but I think there were some recent US court cases were the men were successfully prosecuted in the US for pedophilia committed over there.
In 2002 my partner and I relocated within the US, and began building a circle of gay friends in our new city. We accepted an invitation to a cocktail party at the home of someone we didn't know, but his social circle included some gay guys we had already met.
At one point our host was giving us a tour of his house, including his office/study, where he demonstrated his new computer and a fancy music system. On a table I was shocked to see some magazines with young Asian boys on their covers. Our host saw me notice them, and happily began an explanation.
These were magazines he got from Thailand, where he claimed it was legal to photograph boys only 13 or so engaged in sex acts and provocative poses. He went on to say that he visited Thailand once or twice a year, for a "sex holiday" where he enjoyed the services of boys that young. And all the time he was smiling and seemed quite proud of himself, adding that it was all entirely legal there, not criminal at all.
Trying to hold my temper, I mumbled something about my not believing boy sex was right under any circumstances. He became momentarily distracted by some other guests, and my partner & I went back to the living room.
We discussed our horror at what we'd just learned, and decided to stay in that house not a minute longer. We made a few quick good-byes to the others, and finally to our host. Out in the car we vowed to never return, which we never did, though we got a few more invites afterwards. We also began to avoid his circle of friends, not wishing to associate with anyone who would tolerate that behavior, and who might be practitioners themselves.
Does Thailand still permit that sort of thing? I hope not. The exploitation of children sickens me, and the thought that some gay Americans help support it shames me.
