This made me chuckle. There's some truth to it. We only age in one direction. Any younger "twinks" need only to wait a few short years and then they will cross that line, or be dragged across it, whether they like it or not.

In the meantime, exercise and skincare is everything!!icon_lol.gif

I don't see smegma's comments unless sometimes if quoted and I've failed to avert my eyes but if I recall when I clicked that one out, my internal comment to its profile was "ageist scum". So, nice to see things haven't changed. You know how we older guys can't handle change.

It is but not just that he'll wind up aging too. Because, I don't know, of course, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he's a disgusting pedophile who neither now nor ever will enjoy anyone his own age. He's an ageist scum now and he'll continue being scum when he's aged. He suffers a disconnect which he might replace with a perversion while accusing others of his own failings.

So the comment that ageism works in only one direction isn't necessarily that everyone ages, because you can bring your ageism with you, but, rather, that there's legitimacy in requesting sanctuary ie the comment "no twinks allowed" in an ageist world just as there's legitimacy in Israel being sanctuary from the world of anti-Semitism, or hip-hop for that matter or gay bars.

That people living in an oppressive world are entitled to sanctuary.

For me, one thing about getting older is that it puts things into perspective about how I see my own father. Some of the things that I blamed my dad for when I was a teenager I now take responsibility for myself, now that I'm the age my dad was when I was 15. I just doubt I'd know how to raise a kid any better than he did. My dad was 21 when he had me, which seems incredibly young to me now. I think maybe many of us were "fucked up" from parents who were too young when they had us, since you don't fully mature until 35, or so. Kids having kids just might be a part of the human condition. I'm just not sure if that's working for us or against us, as a species. Maybe the ancients were right that it takes a village to raise a child, and that we must respect our elders. It seems like the only way to ensure that we're not just bumbling idiots most of our lives.

Alright, he may look too young to compete in that category, I don't know his age when those pictures were taken... he's actually 44 though ! I'd like to look like him around his age ! :O

Usually, I prefer "typical guys from the north", but... icon_eek.gif daaaaaaamn, Alessandro CALZA, you're one of my ultimate fantasy icon_redface.gif

There's more where it comes from ! ;p

See the vital role grandparents play in helping to raise their grandchildren in the older extended family of other societies.

No offense but is this what everyday "daddies" look like? I thought that majority of us have dad bods and don't pose for photos.

What oppression? All I hear about on RJ is how daddies are so hot icon_lol.gif. Was it all just patronizing? Don't make us look so pathetic. icon_rolleyes.gif

I like the fact that recently I've had three photographers contact me saying there is a new "trend" for "mature men in shape" - offering photo shoots.

um, that response of mine was so June 30th. Let me see if I get what I was saying....

Yep, got it. Nope, sorry, not pathetic. I had that right. You only think the world is not oppressive against aging because you are still only 50. That's practically your 40s still. Give it another five to seven years and get back to us. My bill will be awaiting your arrival, with interest due.
