This article was printed back in January, well before the Supreme Court made marriage equality the law of the land! http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/american-politics-are-moving-to-the-left/2014/01/16/30161350-7885-11e3-af7f-13bf0e9965f6_story.html

By the way, over ONE BILLION PEOPLE now live in countries with marriage equality! That's 1/7 of the worlds human population! This is HUGE!!

Dear lord, do you know what you've started?!

Just kidding. At least this will keep them occupied for a while.

    One billion+ for marriage equality!

    United States - 321 million

    Plus:

    Argentina - 43 million
    Belgium - 11 million
    Brazil - 202 million
    Canada - 35 million
Denmark - 6 million (Includes Greenland)
    Finland - 5 million
    France - 66 million
    Iceland - 329,000
    Ireland - 6 million
    Luxembourg - 549,000
    Mexico - 121 million
    The Netherlands - 17 million
    New Zealand - 4 million
    Norway - 5 million
    Portugal - 10 million
    South Africa - 54 million
    Spain - 46 million
    Sweden - 9 million
    UK - 64 million
    Uruguay - 3 million

A couple of countries have fully legalized SSM but are still implementing it. ALL of the above populations greater than 1 million were rounded down to the lessor million for rounding purposes. (To prevent the numbers from seeming inflated by rounding up) Even so, the total is over 1 billion - with a *B*

southbeach1500 saidFor those unaware, red = "the right" and blue = "the left"

Then some seemingly corroborating pictures of land masses, as though land masses vote...

See, if the one congressional district of Wyoming votes majority Republican, it looks big, right? America MUST be Republican.

Austin, Texas, is very liberal. But we're not represented by liberal congressmen. Google "gerrymandering" in case you were home schooled and missed a middle school education in civics.

Most honest people will see this map as a better representation of non-gerrymandered congressional districts' voting majorities:

"This map (found on Gawker) takes it three steps beyond just the standard red/blue state map. The second map shows counties with a binary red/blue scheme. The third map shows each individual county on a red to purple to blue scale. The final map changes the transparency of any given county based on the population of that county; the brighter the county the more people that live there."

    original.jpg

An honest observer will note that pale areas (that appear to be more reddish) cover a large geographic area. The more saturated areas represent denser population, and that shit is bluer.

    Sorry, Southbeach.

America still has it's feet deeply rooted as Jesus land. A christains country that's keeping religion alive in others. You may need another revolution to change this.

Poor Southbeach. I think you may have just ruined his 4th of July. But then, his dubious 'statistics' and 'facts' rarely stand up to scrutiny. As his post count of 26,000 attests, he is more interested in generating volume than accuracy.

southbeach1500 saidGreat. I thank all those liberals and the denser population for voting in even more Republicans to the House in 2014:

    2014: 247 Republican seats +13 188 Democrat Seats - 13

You should thank them for not voting at all. The turnout was 36%. Remember?

This book exposes a disturbing trend happening in the US and specifically in college campuses in general--the assault on free speech by a growing segment of liberals that Kirsten calls ILLIBERALS (I like this term because it sounds like illogical and liberal juxtaposed).

If east is right and west is left, then America has been left for centuries. Too bad a few dumbfucks in the bible belt haven't figured that out.

Hopefully brainwashed people supporting fat ass Hillary Clinton will realize how fake and stupid she really is.

    lol
If you must keep parroting the same line, at least try to do it relevantly. No one has even mentioned Clinton (or any other candidate for that matter).

    More fun with maps.

Here is a 2012 presidential election map in which the sizes of states are re-scaled according to their population.

The main reason that America is moving to the left is that we've tried the policies of the right and they didn't work.
Conservatives believe that giving more and more money to the super wealthy will somehow help everyone else.
    We tried it. It didn't.

No, but "fat ass" is certainly a convincing political argument - a considered, balanced addition to rational argument...

This is where I agree with you guys 100%. Supply side economics/ trickle down theories are a grave disastrous failure that is slowly but surely pushing the U.S. towards third world status. Add both the Greenspan and Bernake money printing booms combined with these horrendous free trade agreements and you end up with more poverty among the masses and more income going to the wealthiest 1 to 2 percent of the population. Similar to situations in poor third world countries. But Wall Street and all its corporate shills two of those shills are Hillary and Jeb, would all bitterly oppose dismantling the whole supply side/ trickle down system because that would deeply cut into their rapidly growing, already immense personal wealth.
