    My point was/is .... you need allies in both parties ... even with conservatives. How much impact with conservatives does she have saying this to conservatives versus Rachel Maddow saying the exact same thing on MSNBC? Sorta why big corporations contribute to both parties.

    I'm always glad to see this acknowledged, whatever side of the aisle it's on. Addressing your own side's omissions will always be more effective than going after the other's.

    The remaining problem, though, is that it's a slippery slope from this to compromise, and the current political machine has realized that compromise and progress are far less profitable than polarization and division.

    One step at a time, though.

    It needs to be taken off of the table as a divisive issue that one side uses against the other. It needs to be as settled as saying grass is green (no Joe, not 'that' kind) and the oceans are blue.

    One way to do this is to have very visible supporters on both sides.
