What Donald Trump said was true - that criminals come from Mexico because our border is not secure, among other reasons. He never said everyone from Mexico was a criminal, but that criminals were included in the mix. But he offended some, including some Republicans, because he didn't say it nicely enough. He was too blunt and people got their feelings hurt. Their PC sensibilities were offended.

Of course the liberal media and some politicians, including some Republicans, spun the comments to say all Mexicans were slandered. Seems like enough people are not buying that crap.

In this case, ICE was doing its job, but San Francisco was the culprit. But in many other cases, the corrupt Obama administration is causing ICE to release many into the general population.

    -------------------------------------
Man arrested in connection with San Francisco killing had been deported several times, officials say

"DHS records indicate ICE lodged an immigration detainer on the subject at that time, requesting notification prior to his release so ICE officers could make arrangements to take custody. The detainer was not honored [by San Francisco]," ICE said in a statement Friday afternoon.

"His criminal history includes seven prior felony convictions, four involving narcotics charges," ICE said in a statement.

"Here's a jurisdiction that's not even honoring our detainer for someone who clearly is an egregious offender," an ICE official told FoxNews.com.

The tragedy also surfaced late Friday in the 2016 presidential race. GOP candidate Donald Trump, who has been under fire for controversial remarks describing some Mexican illegal immigrants ‎as criminals, said in a statement that the "senseless and totally preventable act of violence committed by an illegal immigrant is yet another example of why we must secure our border immediately."

Random killing Trumps San Francisco's sanctuary city policy

The horrific murder of a pretty young woman by an illegal alien at a prime tourist location in San Francisco is validating the argument of Donald Trump on the influx of violent criminals, and causing at least some local media reflection in arguably the nation’s most politically correct city. This morning edition of the San Francisco Chronicle website (which reflects the newspaper’s front page to some extent) gives prominent placement to Trump’s contention that the murder of Kathryn Steinle shows that he’s right.
    -------
The Associated Press report on the matter makes clear that the release was no snafu but rather the result of official San Francisco policy

A look at San Francisco's status as a sanctuary city

What does it mean to be a sanctuary city? According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, sanctuary cities have policies in place to "bar any local official, including law enforcement officials, from asking people about their immigration status, reporting them to federal immigration authorities, or otherwise cooperating with or assisting federal immigration authorities."

Interesting how upset some are about Trump's statements. But are they also upset about cities that refuse to cooperate with immigration officials? Will the media ask the Democratic candidates if they stand by their previous comments, or will that hopefully be swept under the rug?

I think I know why the RJ liberals are so willing to show their indignation at Trump's comments, but they are apparently afraid to comment on cities refusing to cooperate with the federal government on immigration.

Most everyone on the political scene has expressed varying degrees of disapproval of Trumps' comments. So being indignant is safe. There's safety in numbers.

But the issue of cities refusing to cooperate, leading to a death in San Francisco, is a thornier issue for the liberals. Because all the Democratic candidates have supported sanctuary cities, if an RJ liberal took a different position, he might be out there all alone. Not a good place to be if you have the mentality of sheep and need to find safety among other sheep.

I don't want to make a blanket assessment about all of them because there are some decent guys who are liberal, but I think many avoid topics like this because they are cowardly sheep.

I was simply going to comment on what a bigot you are, but after reading this, it occurred to me that on top of that, you're a coward. You're an actual citizen of the US, yet you have never even once had the balls to show your face on a gay site???

You can trumpet your politics all you want, but you're actually an embarrassment to the gay community, because you don't even have enough pride to reveal yourself to the very people you lambaste.

It's no achievement to take the easy road. It's the path of least resistance. It's also anything but courageous. At least immigrants have some pride and take some initiative.

HottJoe - there are many reasons people don't reveal their identities on social media sites. Many of the reasons have nothing to do with gayness, but I'm sure you don't understand. Many people don't want their opinions or politics to impact their careers, for example, and don't reveal their true identities on Facebook, Twitter, etc. But an idiot like you doesn't understand.

You don't know what a bigot is; you don't know what a coward is. You didn't like my challenging assholes like you to post a position on sanctuary cities, so you did what low lifers do - attack the poster for reasons irrelevant to the topic at hand.

And again, the liberal omits the most important word: ILLEGAL.

They are ILLEGAL immigrants Joe. You spit in the face of the millions who come here LEGALLY when you group these criminals with those who go through the tortuous process of coming here legally.

Where did society go wrong with you?

We have BORDERS, like every other country.

We have LAWS that people who want to come to this country must follow, just like every other country has.

You label people who invade our BORDERS and break our LAWS as having "pride and taking initiative."

    You are so lost.

Next you'll likely bring up that the European settlers violated "Native American" immigration laws! We've already gone through that with you Joe, so don't bother, you'll just dig the hole even deeper.

Just today, two of RJs GOPers cast aspersions on LEGAL Somalian immigrants in Minnesota. I think you use the word ILLEGAL to justify the blatant bigotry of republicans, such as Trump, who brought the bigots in your party out of the woodwork, once again.

The US has had laws such as Jim Crow and anti-sodomy laws. Some laws are just made to be broken, especially the laws of tyrants.

Lol, ever hear of the American Revolution???

On a liberal site, most do not agree with the position of the Democratic candidates. But the sample is pretty small. Most probably didn't want to touch it.

Do you support "sanctuary" cities where illegal immigrants and those involved in felony identity theft are given a pass by local law enforcement on identity fraud and enforcement of federal immigration laws.
