These workmen are installing bollards to stop nurses from parking on the pavement outside the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, N. Ireland.

They are cleaning up at the end of the day...

I would attempt to defend them, but unfortunatly this goes on all the time here.

I recently found rumble strips on a bike lane and not on the road here in dublin, and consequently found out that it was an engineer in our office that prepared the drawingsicon_rolleyes.gif

I'd love to see another shot of their faces when they realize exactly just what they did.

Hate to spoil the fun, but those "bollards" typically are removable with a key device, so that maintenance, construction, emergency and other vehicles can get past them. This crew just had to lift up a bollard and drive out, then lock it back in place. Sorry... icon_sad.gif

I thought this was about Notre Dame losing their second home game in a row last Monday night.

I hate to admit this, but it took me awhile to figure it out. Yes, I'm Irish.

I'm part Irish, too, so don't go making any apologies, ya hear? As I said above, those posts (bollards) are removable, and the crew will just lift one, drive out, and lock it back in place. This is NOT a fail, my friends.

I am half Irish... but I dont think being Irish has anything to do with it! People make mistakes like this every day, from all walks of life. It is amusing to see it though... haha! At least they can go have a beer. icon_twisted.gif

Thank you, proving my point (although that site resists copy and paste with my browser, or I would paste the text here).

It states, as I surmised, that these are removable bollards, using a key-lock system. I didn't live in Europe for 2 years for nothing. icon_biggrin.gif

I'm full blooded US, but with Irish ancestors. I still don't get it. icon_lol.gif

ARRRGGHHH... NOTHING is going on there! Those posts are REMOVABLE! You take a key and you remove them, for emergency access and other purposes. The van isn't trapped; they pull up a post and drive out. What is so difficult to comprehend here???

    1. the biggest fail is the current ND losing steak. what the hell

    2. Im sure they exist but i've never seen a removable decorative bollard. they are usually permanent. all the removable ones i've seen are the generic yellow style

    removablebollardcrop.jpg

    3. You are ruining the fun of the thread by pointing out that some bollards are in fact removable.

    4. Removable are always more expensive and based on the area in which thouse are installed, i see no reason to make them removable.

    5. Why am I typing this instead of eating.

    6. Wow did anyone see the Wake / Duke game?? Craziness.

    7. Dang and look at this KU / Nebraska game!

    8. And what happened to Pitt and Syracuse and UL!?

Because you've never lived in Europe, you moronic, isolated, uninformed American! No wonder the rest of the world mocks Americans. Self-absorbed idiots.

Wow that was angry and quick. And I did mention that yes, im sure they exist.

And yes, i've never been to europe. Obviously, because of that, I must be stupid, not know anything about the rest of the world, and pretty much don't care. Yes.. because I didnt go backpacking after college to 'find myself,' I am less of a person. Horrible horrible me.

Only because you speak without knowing, a typical American trait. Americans talk a lot, and listen little. Why our international diplomacy is in ruins, and Americans as a people are hated around the globe. Try closing your mouth and opening your ears.
