On and On and On and On, is the right wing cabal going to use its evil magic ("the power") to start this war? War, of any kind is all they seem to know and encourage, do we not see this yet? As far as I'm concerned, these nut jobs declared war on us a long time ago (see GW) icon_rolleyes.gif

“If the decision contradicts the Constitution, then it is not law,” Moore said. “And if it is not a law, then you don’t have to obey it.”

First off, representatives from every state in the Union signed the US Constitution that made it the law of the land, so states do not get to make their own laws to over ride the US Constitution. Secondly, there was never any Amendment in the Constitution prohibiting same sex marriage. And third, The first Amendment prohibits the making of ANY law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion. Lastly, there are religions that do allow same sex marriage. The End.

What do you expect from narrow minded bible thumping screwballsicon_question.gif They all bitterly detest the fact they have proven wrong repeatedly and that their vision for a Christian theocratic republic is going up in smoke right before their eyes. Oh well, life goes on.icon_biggrin.gif

    "Militant Christians" vs "Militant Liberals".

Just by reading the words alone, which one do we feel more threatened by? Which one do we feel threatens our lives, and not just our way of life, our rights and our liberties.

Not trying to incite anything here, just pointing out the hypocrisy of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, whose religion offers orders and commandments that dictate how best to annihilate his enemies. I look at liberal figures in the forefront of activism and politics, and it's hard for me to imagine them performing violent acts beyond putting laxatives in someone's coffee.

Half joking there in that last paragraph, mind. But the idea is, if there really is a "war", I think the side with all the guns will be the one to start it.

    1) The decision was based on the Constitution, Roy. The Supremes are the ones who get to interpret it, not you. (Note criminals have always wanted to discredit judges who make decision that go against them... )

    2) Religion? Ditto. Other, better-educated people than you, have reached different conclusions than you have.

Sit down and shut up. And stop fomenting rebellion and treason.

    From his own bio page:

In 1992, Chief Justice Moore became a judge of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit of Alabama and served until his election as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court in 2000. In 2003, Chief Justice Moore was removed from his position by a judicial panel for refusing to remove a Ten Commandments monument that he installed in the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building to acknowledge the sovereignty of God.

Basically, there's a criminal in charge of Alabama's highest court. God help that state.

It's time to impeach him again. If a member of the judiciary contradicts the Constitution, he should be removed.

Well, in right wing, republican double speak, Faux News propaganda style, 'I Hope We Don't Have A War' is actually code name message to the base, to 'please start a huge war over this'

And what is their weapon of choice, guns and ammo? They lost using the law, what else is left but to accept defeat? He is really saying do not accept defeat, but they are out of options except to incite, real violence against us. icon_confused.gif

A new 'kill the gays' constitutional amendment? icon_rolleyes.gif

I agree with you 100%. It is time to impeach this flaky fundamentalist once and for all.
