Woman Epically Shuts Down People Who Fat-Shamed Her Boyfriend
After her friend posted the above photo on Reddit, Ashley Stevens involuntarily found out that the Internet hated her boyfriend. More than 2,600 people commented that Christopher Reed was fat and disgusting

Can 2,600 people be wrong? Are they right? Will FAT PEOPLE take any advise this way? Do they even CARE?? lol

every sane fat person cares at some point, but sometimes it is too late and hope is consumed by despair
every obese prson has health problems, abnormal metabolic processes happening in the body, for some it is not severe enough to affect the overall functioning of the body bad enough to have any signs of illness, but metabolic processes are affected in every obese person that leads to the body not functioning properly

It is sad that many uneducated people think this is a matter of purely tolerance or acceptance or judgement. For some it is, but being obese is not natural

At the same time I think calling names and degrading people is definitely wrong, shaming someone for his/her weight is not the best thing to do, but there should be more educational material available, government needs to promote and make steps for the healthy food options to be more available, I don't understand how can schools feed their children with pizza and fries and junk food, that should be a crime and is completely unacceptable.

pazkilimanjaro saidJust because someone is overweight doesn't mean they have health problems or is fucked up. That's just being shallow minded assuming someone is sick because theyre overweight.

I am not sure they figured he was sick. 2,600 did get up set. Maybe, he could take her on walk dates and turn it around?

Fat people are disgusting. They show no care for their health. I would never date or be friends with a fat person. Why? Because if they cannot take care of their own body or care for their body at all how do I expect them to have a positive influence on myself?

I love her comments. We need more people like her in gay community so it's not so obsessed with looks all the time!

It is not about looks in this situation. It is about common sense that being fat is unhealthy. If you're overweight you are an unnecessary expense to the health care system. Guess how you fix it? You eat a normal amount and get adequate exercise.

I never figured it a look thing.
Her BF could be a hottie.

A good friend of mine is so ill and sick from diabetes and heart issues. He's on an oxygen tank and still refuses to even stop eating junk food or simply go for a walk......even his doctors BEG him!!!

    He's 5-8 and 300+

...and is a lack of shame the underlying issue?

I'm not trying to judge, I normally stay out of these threads, but there seem to be a lot of them lately and so far I'm not sure they've begun to fix the problem. icon_confused.gif

The funny thing is how folks are like yay whenever some attention whoring ass gay male couple usually some young gay white couple that satisfies peoples superficial minded asses is on youtube advertising their bullshit or their engagement going like... "we're happy they found love" but yet they turn around dissing a couple because they aren't picturesque to them. Stop hating.

Personally, not a hater. I just observe, report and see....

I am not a judgmental person. I seek to understand and then learn for improvements......People can make choices and do.

I agree, obesity is not healthy and we should all care about our health. I just don't agree people make judgement because someone is fat without knowing that person. There are many medical conditions that can cause someone to be fat. For example, diabetes can cause extra craving for sweet and food, and many more. So, for all we know, he could have a medical condition. Just because we are lucky enough to be healthy, doesn't give us right to call people who are fat " discussing". I would never call someone fat discussing, I will call a " rapist " or an " animal abuser" discussing. We should just look a bit deeper.

I didn't think you figured it a look thing. My comment wasn't pointed towards you but rather a more general comment. icon_smile.gif

I work out 5 times a week and eat healthy, but I know many people are not even lucky enough to eat healthy because normally they do cost more money.

medical condition does not make anyone fat, except if you have water retention in the body, that can give an appearance of being overweight, but that is not fat, food makes people fat, environmental conditions make people fat, not specific conditions of the body, simply put, you can't get fat if you are not overeating. impossible. I think you meant disgusting not ''discussing ''icon_biggrin.gif

It's hard to respect people that won't respect themselves. And fat people don't give a shit about their health and don't give a shit about the people that care about them either.

Unless they have a medical condition that makes them fat there is no excuse for a person to let themselves go so much to the point of being obese.

It goes way beyond looks, it's about self-respect and self-preservation.

    Haha, yes, disgusting, typo.

Medical condition can certainly cause obesity. Here is an article,

I don't think you understand how body works, ever seen obese native person in subsaharan africa with limited resources ( food=calories ) regardless of their medical condition? Fat cells store fat, no fat means nothing to store, adequate calories means body functions without any excess calories to be stored, slow metabolism means less calories to be consumed, especially fat and carbohydrates, although fat is essential, excess fat stores in fat cells and they grow, that is how people get fat, medical conditions are an excuse for bad food choices. And by the way, most people have zero medical conditions when they get fat

I don't think people purposely go out to be obese. I think for many it is beyond their control. Many try to diet or exercise but just cannot over come whatever is needed to loose the weight. I don't think shaming them helps them. It is their burden and I wish them well in over coming whatever it will take them to loose the weight.

That's not true, many are "proud" of it, as if it was something they couldn't change. You see fat people eating in Mc Donalds all the time.

I pretty much agree with this. I don't think you should talk down about overweight people, especially if you don't know them. If you're not physically attracted to them, that's fine but no need to be vocally rude about it.

Hey, fat couples have higher success rates (remaining a couple) than the position a lot of superficial, fat shaming gay couples put themselves in.
those 2,600 folks are no different than those who shame same-sex marriage. Let the skinny girl marry the fat boy in peace, are you that hungry and miserable?

I know I want to put my fist threw an ectomorph's face every time they say: "I just can't gain weight".

Based on this thread, the prior obesity thread, and the Charleston one, The OP strikes me as someone who may mean well but comes off in a very ignorant and somewhat naive fashion that he does more harm than good.

Unfortunately, someone like him will never be the solution to the problem. Just a hindrance.

Just a different point of view. You can't change the unwilling. Most are unwilling!
I am merely reporting the facts.

If you take offence to that, why not talk to the people who are crying.
They choose to be who they want to be. Fat, skinny, obese or killers of innocent people in churches. You don't have to like it or me. I simply have a view.

Just for the record, I have many friends who are all different shapes, sizes & colors. They know I have a good sense of humor about things and shrug off negative crap and help them to laugh it off also.

I would rather leave a conversation with people laughing and having a good time and feeling positive about who they are vs. feeling down or negative. You don't always get that translation here in text.

If you loved the person you were with you would force them to get off of their fat ass and lose weight. Being fat is no different than smoking. It is an early death sentence. #fatpeoplehate #hamplanet #butterhuffers
