That is a lot to pay for watching tv, My parents don't have cable for the same reason, but I have cable at my college apartment, so it works out for me now, but I don't watch much television in college since I am busy with classes, studying, workouts and social life.
Yeah, who wants to feel like they have to sit around watching TV just to get their money's worth? I've had periods in my life where I didn't own a TV at all, and I really can't say I missed it.
In college dorms, there is cable hookups (no pun intended)
, but in some students off-campus don't get cable because of the cost so they just pay for the Internet and purchase a Netflix subscription to watch TV. Some people have Netflix because their parents have it and they pay for it. Even if they pay for Netflix, it is still way cheaper than cable and on the plus side, you can watch shows on your own time, one downside some shows are not available after they air, but this is minor compared to the big long giant bill that come with the cable company.
