ive always felt that the five day a week 40 hour system was nothing more than a form on enslavement to keep the masses in check. if ur overworked with little to no free time u wont even think to ask the relevant bigger questions that plague our world (the "let the government do the thinking for u model") why not a four day workweek with six hours a day? corporate America (thus the government) is afraid of individuals having those "epiphany moments".

Here in Quebec 35 hours is considered full time. People make a less money than in Ontario but seem much happier.
A normal work day is 8 to 4 with an hour for lunch. It helps that most people are unionized, even white collar workers.

I learned to appreciate this while living in England!

Much is sacrificed, to be sure, but I've always felt that our world tries to make us as efficient as machines, and the end result is never happiness.

It would be nice if they changed the week to 9 days with a one day break and a two day break, and 3 work days in between.

I think work weeks should be 0 hrs, with the pay adjusted to equal that of the CEO.
