Retaining water in legs after session

    I've been running 3 times a week since March doing a completed couch to 5K.
    I love it and I am now running 5K 3 times a week.

    All is great. I feel awesome, I'm in pretty good shape compared to no shape at all at New Years when I was still smoking. icon_rolleyes.gif

    All is great but I wonder about the water retention in my lower legs. It's not something you can see but I can tell there is some slight edema over my shin bones.
    Very slight but permanent.

    There is some muscle soreness but I wouldn't say it's more than to be expected from working out.

    Does anyone know if it is normal to retain water in your lower legs from running?

    dont think its water
    but
    there are one way valves in the veins in your legs and they may not completely functional. Maybe a blockage, clot whatever.

    bro science would dictate that you need to consider:
    -Get an ultrasound for your legs
    -get a blood test for factor 5 a clotting deficiency, if both your parents had this genetic issue its serious. the test is expensive
