In Jamundi, a town near to Cali my city, have a recipe that is dessert, ice cream and fruit salad at time. As Valle Del Cauca is very hot land, is ideal for refresh. Is the "Cholado".

Cholado is a tradition that has almost 50 years in my homeland not only for the warm, too for the hangover or for enjoy a good moment.

In Jamundi have many places in a park and the site is know like El Parque Del Cholado, in where the people buy and sell it.

The elaboration has many exotic fruits and, much ice, wafer and condensed milk and it served in a plastic cup. It is delicious.

When someone visit Colombia do not forget come to Valle Del Cauca and prove Cholado.

That looks delicious, but way too sugary for me.

Put some tequila in it to tone it down a bit and maybe I'll give it a try. icon_biggrin.gif

Umm, Paul, with Tequila as you say; that sound like a good and explosive combination, some like a Mexican-Colombian mix ;)

It looks like it either needs to be more blended or less mushy. I agree that tequila would help...icon_biggrin.gif

That's great! It's nice to have a break after the months long study streak.

That means we'll get to see more culture express for South America! I love the food related article in particular! As a 1/4 Mexican who's born and raised in the abroad, I know almost nothing about the culture. It's cool I can learn first-hand infos about South America like this. icon_lol.gif

May I suggest you to cover the topics on native animals, native plants and cultural customs? icon_lol.gif
