There's a lot of diversity on this planet.

    Astronomical research has shown that there's even more diversity within our solar system and beyond.

    Sometimes I wonder if the reason we haven't been introduced to extraterrestrial life forms is because many of us still can't even accept the diversity that's on our own planet.

    Well, it's a very real problem. What If, the conditions that cause the origin of life happen all of the time in volcanic rocks, right under our feet, every day? But the critters that are already there just eat them? What if "life" happens on Pluto, or in the coronosphere of the sun, but we just haven't calibrated to see it properly?

    There is a whole lot of room in this field. Just not a lot of cash to support it.
