She says a lot of stuff. Some of it is smart, some of it is more than a little batty. For example:

"From Stonewall to the first AIDS alert was only twelve short years. In the Eighties and early Nineties, displaced anxiety over the horror of AIDS turned gay activists into raging nihilists and monomaniacs, who dishonestly blamed the disease on the government and trampled on the rights of the gay majority, and whose errors of judgement materially aided the rise and consolidation of the far right."

"No one is “born gay.” The idea is ridiculous, but it is symptomatic of our overpoliticized climate that such assertions are given instant credence by gay activists and their media partisans."

"The unhappy truth is that male homosexuality will never be fully accepted by the heterosexual majority, who are obeying the dictates not of bigoted society or religion but of procreative nature."

Paglia is a provocateur. Some of what she says seems intended more to shake people up and spark a response. Whether it's something she truly thinks, not so much.

It's not really that today is different than then. This stuff was in the news at the time and Clinton got a pass.

He got a pass? You sound really smart.

First, Bill Clinton was known as a womanizer, not a rapist.

Second, Bill Clinton was impeached. That's not a pass.

In the court of public opinion (not the Senate court that refused to convict him), Americans had enough of the philandering, hypocritical, thrice-married assholes who decided we should spend millions of taxpayer dollars on a witch hunt.

Funny how you conservatives LOVE spending taxpayer money on stupid shit.

The majority of rapists get off using force on their victims, like Clinton. Cosby rapes his victims after drugging them which is less common. He likes them lifeless like blow up dolls.

He got a pass. There were no consequences other than not being able to practice law in Arkansas. I'm sure he felt crushed as he went on to his next $500k speaking engagement.

Hmmm. Conservatives spend money on things that destroy, liberals spend money on things that build. I'm with the liberals on this one.

Be angry at the Republicans in the Senate who refused to convict him. Hey, the Democrats weren't going to vote to convict anyway--who are we kidding--but the Republicans had a majority at the time. Would have taken 67 votes--a near impossible threshold--but the votes on the charges never broke 50 senators.

If anything, I'm angry for Bill Clinton essentially hobbling Al Gore with his scandal. That gave us fucking George Bush.

I presume you mean things like the Interstate Highway Construction Act?
