Do you think most bodybuilders are gay (or at least bi)? I mean, they seem to like the same things gays like such as exhibitionism, narcissism, muscle worship, wrestling, hairless body, tight briefs made of spandex, satin, leopard skin, or zebra skin, pouches (or g-strings or posing straps), admiration of body parts, and a host of other things both gays and bodybuilders like.
Joe Weider, bodybuilder promoter, said bodybuilders aren't gay, but those who like to look at them are. Mae West, who once had a Las Vegas nightclub act featuring bodybuilders surrounding her, said all the bodybuilders in her act were "homos." How did she know?

Bodybuilders are so gay that even their muscles swell with Pride.

I don't know if gay men are all the things you say they are but body builders are awfully vain by definition. It's not a trait I find manly.
Especially when they start comparing who has the perkiest pair or bitch about how they wish their hips were smaller.
You can only say the same things 15 year old female models say for so long before it becomes girly if you catch my drift.

It's fine. I compete at throwing out fabulous summery table settings. It's not like I'm all that butch myself.
But the whole gym bunny thing is as gay as the world is wide.
No shade. I love them gay boys. I'm just saying you can only be so vain before you are not even really a dude anymore.

Real men don't do selfies. I'm just saying, bitches.

Bodybuilders can be good to look at...but for me are way to much, I personally prefer a guy with a nice lean build rather than a body builder...I see a body build and it is not a turn on in any way shape or form.

St8 or Gay..does it matter? It is like asking are male strippers gay? are waiters gay? are Doctors gay? are Lawyers gay? are soccer players gay?

My trainer is a competitive bodybuilder and (I assume) straight. But then again all his friends are straight and its a straight gym and I've never had a reason to ask him.

You don't have to be gay to appreciate the male form. All guys look at other guys in the gym. Those that don't are lying. The gym is actually one of the few places where you can easily catch a straight man trying to covertly check another man's ass. Compare and contrast.

I talked to one of my buddies about it a while back and this is close to the internal dialogue he narrated for me:

"That dude has a huge ass. His shorts are hanging like a wet towel over a pair of beach balls. How much weight does he have on the squat rack right now? Maybe there's a posture trick I'm missing...okay tomorrow is definitely leg day."

    Great physiques are motivation.

I think it goes 50/50. Just because a guy likes bodybuilding doesn't mean he's gay. Though I have noticed a lot just like to show off to both sexes and well, that still doesn't make one gay. My brother has a friend who body builds and he's straight though he's one of the types that likes to show off to both girls and guys. I think it's just an instinct most guys get when they get big.

I haven't met a gay bodybuilder before though. I've only met two bisexual ones but that's it. With that said, I'm sure they exist.

So I wouldn't pigeon-hole every guy who likes to go to the gym and like another user said, there's nothing wrong with a male finding another male "beautiful" from a non-sexual way.

When a straight man masturbates he's having sex with a man; sure it's himself but it's still sex with a man. We appreciate our own bodies, and the bodies of other men are just a small jump from that. But for straights it's not a sexual appreciation.

We also filter or project our way of thinking onto others; e.g., we're gay and like looking at other men's bodies so if a straight man appreciates another man's body he must be gay? Similarly, it's hard for gay men to understand how collegiate wrestlers can be straight with all that close contact and grabbing that their sport involves.

Look at my profile page where I try to explain it with my "sexual flexibility" section.

A guy REALLY into the male body and male physique, etc?? Either really into himself or the body or totally GAY. Hard to tell, but I try not to assume icon_razz.gificon_razz.gif

    Yes and No.

With any hobby, I'm sure there are gay guys involved with it.

However as guys who know how to sew and are fashion designers are hair stylists, it's typical for a guy to be gay in that field, so they are more open and it's more accepted for a gay guy to be a fashion designer or to work at supercuts.

With sports, it's a different discussion and it's still a topic kinda taboo. Guys are expected to be macho and heterogeneous.

In my opinion, bodybuilding is the most homophobic and least open minded community there is. With the gayforpay epidemic and stuff of that sort. Gym's getting rid of steam rooms and saunas from gay guys cruising in them. Bah idk.

    Hope that answers your question.
