I already know I'm an ambivert. It's a term that was coined not too long ago, and I took the preliminary test when it was available (don't remember the link).

Update: Since that test was short as fuck, I took it again. Yep, I'm still an ambivert. icon_cool.gif

Me too. (Still not for sure what it means...is it introverted and extroverted or just in between the two?)

It means you are neither an introvert or an extrovert, somewhere in between. I always thought most people were like this! icon_smile.gif

"You're an ambivert. That means you're neither strongly introverted nor strongly extraverted."

I am an ambivert like everyone else. Depends on my mood and who I am around.

    Strange, me too.

I wouldn't have thought that given that I'm mostly extroverted but do enjoy some time alone.

I was just texting another guy about this today (he posted in this thread) and told him that I think most people are ambiverts.

And that reminds me, I just did something I've been meaning to do for a while: add the word "ambivert" to my computer's dictionary so it stops underlining it with spellcheck. icon_lol.gif

I don't really believe in this. Humans are social animals, we all desire some level of social interaction and want relationships in our lives. Those few who are truly hermits and hate all people are outliers.

Because of our social evolution, most introverted people have learned extroverted behaviors in order to make friends, get jobs, not be seen as weird. This doesn't make them less introverted, and it doesn't make them "ambiverts."

The only question on the quiz that really matters is the one about whether you feel drained after being around people.

You should ask yourself, when I have a bad day, do I want to go to a bar with a crowd of friends, or do I want to go home and be by myself or maybe with just one close friend. That is what differentiates an introvert from an extrovert.

I'd say the most important aspect that differenciate introverts VS extroverts is the ability to talk to / approach strangers.

I know people who would never dare ask for random people on the street for direction, or a tissue if they need one, or any kind of little assistance in their every day life...
Why being so shy about those simple things ? What is the worse scenario, the person says no ? Who cares ! You probably won't see each other again... On to the next potential nice person who could give a hand !
Same goes for making new friends in your everyday life ! Queueing in any store / shop / public transport, on a long travel, sit next to someone... so many occasions !
Being extrovert is being able to connect with anybody when you feel like it, without getting blocked by any 2nd thought or self doubts. It's such a blessing icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe so. I like my quiet/alone time. That's very different from being lonely.

I have hobbies with my music and photography, and even when I'm piddling around with the cars, detailing, etc. However, when I'm out and about I'm very outgoing and strike up conversations with anyone and everyone.
