"Bishop Larry Provenzano, head of the Long Island diocese, which includes the Church of the Redeemer in Astoria, told the Post, “Priests who wish to enter into same-gender marriage are approved to do so in the Episcopal Church and in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island,” adding that Quevedo-Bosch has his “full support” in whatever he chooses to do next."

Well, there you have it. His boss and church doesn't care. Why should anyone else? Evidently, divorce and remarriage is no big deal in the Episcopal Church.

Although a rather crass way to announce it

I would want to know the details to understand how I feel about it.. If he announced it, and nobody knew, how did he say it? did people know beforehand? How did he tell his wife and family? The article is sensationalised.. The fact the church is supporting him probably means he handled it better than the article makes out..
