Steam Room?

I searched the forums about this but didn't find anything.

I went into the steam room at my gym last night with my best friend for the first time and we both enjoyed it after a long workout session. I'd like to know what recommended length is good to stay in there for since we were only able to get 10 minutes of steam until it was turned off for the night. icon_evil.gif

Besides that -- what are the other benefits of a steam room?

Helps clear out the pores. Relaxes the body from the hard work out I'll assume you had. Its certainly soothing and good for the skin.

Plus you can't beat some of the eye candy you see. That's always nice.

If you go to my profile, click "Recent Forum Posts" to bring up the main listing, you will see "Sauna" near the bottom of the list. This will direct you to the post where I explain everything about steam room and sauna, based on more than thirty years experience.

Its so nice to go in there and relax the muscles, sweat out all the toxins of the body, calm your mind and enjoy it all. Just about what everyone already said. I don't know much about "eye candy" in there, for most of the people that ever go in there aren't very attractive, hahaha. Atleast, not at MY gym.
However, I have noticed people who do some sort of workout in the steamroom....never completely understood that, because couldn't that possibly overheat the body??

    Thanks for the responses!

I noticed after I took a shower last night that it did clear my pores. I was amazed. I wouldn't know about the "eye candies". It was just me and my best friend when we were hit the steam room. I've yet to see those LOL

Some days I'll be working out late at night with nobody in the gym and nobody was in the locker room. Then I'll see several guys come out of the locker room all at once.
