So I went to my gym today for the first time this semester becuase I want to get back into shape. After a relationship and depression I have gained some pudge.

As I walked in today Mamma Mia was on the main speakers i brought my iPod with me because i never go anywhere with out it but it was a hastle to shuffle through songs to find a good one. Can you guys recommend any songs that you have on your workout playlists?

I knew a guy who learnt Italian by listening to educational cassettes while he was in the gym.

    Hardly very motivating!

i used to listen to cfa study material - i suggest you don't unless you're ok being stuck mid-squat on a heavy day contemplating where all your mojo went..for sleeping purposes however, it's unmatched

also 'ante up' by m.o.p. makes for great supplementation with mamma mia

I got Conway Twitty on my playlist this week. I need to listen to mellow music. Helps me focus and maintain proper form.

Maybe its because I'm a runner (upper body workouts? Whats that? I just do pushups) its usually just me and my friends talking about stuff. If you want motivational, you can have the secret of peer pressure. Your friend is right next to you. Yes, he is watching you to an extent, that is pressure.

MORE importantly he can offer his own encouragements. Some verbal things. You'd be able to know your friend better and possibly have something better than music.

On another note, for motivation, if your having a really hard time doing some exercise think of it not as "10 more" but as "1 more" and do that 10 times. It takes some getting used to, but it works.
