Oh. My. Gosh. Love that show. And I just got to the episode where they had an orgy with 1 transgender, 1 gay and 2 of the 'straight' actors......wow. just. wow.

I could have sworn there was already a forum topic about this but I can't find it. I watched the show and really enjoyed it. I hope they do a second season. I really liked how it was almost a magical, sci-fi story (à la Matrix) but instead of extraordinary technology or weapons or guns or whatever, it was just an extraordinary connection between eight different people. The shots in Iceland were incredible, too!

Yes, I will admit that the first few episodes were slow to say the least, but they picked up around episode 4/5. and ya Bunjamon, I like the idea of 'ordinary' people being able to trade out skills as the need (seemingly) arises. I know I would love to channel a Martial Arts badass every once in a while ha ha!

Lito and Hernando alone are worth the time suck. Sweet Jesus.

I watched the first episode, admittedly a bit tired at the time, and thought, "Huh?" But then I watched it again and watched the entire season over a few nights, and I have to agree, it was excellent. Not sure what was up with all the vaginal birth shots (symbolism? just for kicks?), but I definitely recommend it too, and I hope there's a second season.

Yup--I liked it. You have to give up on reality a bit, of course.

I just watched their behind-the-scenes documentary on Netflix tonight.

I just read an interesting article on it, in fact:

This show kinda sucks. Horrible acting, illogical scripts. But hot guys, definitely.

Did you watch more than the first episode? The acting is not horrible (it can always be improved) and the script is hardly illogical. I'm wondering if you have more concrete examples?

Agreed, the scripts are anything but illogical. I will say at times they are hard to keep up with, but overall very engaging.

The only character whom I found difficult was Nomi: always crying, always slack-mouthed—as if being a trans character meant talking like a valley girl with vocal fry.

Well she *is* in San Francisco, which implies she's from Cali....and we kinda perfected the Valley girl talk.....totally.

Word. Actually the script reminded me of William Faulkner's 'As I Lay Dying,' floating in and out of the narratives of multiple characters.

It was good, my friend who was visiting earlier made me binge watch it during his entire stay with me over the weekend.

The first episode felt like it was never gonna end. But the other episodes were really good.

The only thing that I did not like about the show, (well two things) is that there were only 12 episodes. I feel like the show could have used more episodes to dwell on certain things. Something that I didn't like about the show was the fact that some of the stuff that happened felt a bit.. rushed? I don't know if that's the word, but I kinda felt like they were rushing certain things.

For instance, (I don't remember everything, I could be wrong here) I thought it was kinda unrealistic/lame how the character from Africa didn't need as much time to adjust to the whole stuff that was going on around him. I mean, you could see how freaked out the other characters were (Kala, Will, Nomi etc) because of the things that were happening. But Capheus got used to it pretty quickly, which definitely bothered me. I mean the other characters kinda had to go through a transition period to get used to the stuff that was going on, but not Capheus, he was totally chill.

I think the fact that that woman Yrsa appeared at the end of the series bothered me as well. I mean other than the fact that she played a big role in Riley's life, we still don't know anything about her really. Other than she doesn't trust Jonas. I would have loved if they would showed us what her history/relation is with Jonas (Are they from the same cluster or not?? etc)

My friend just dismissed what I said, saying that it was nonessential to the plot which kinda bothered me despite the fact that they got away doing what I wrote earlier. But that's my rant. I hope they explain the thing with Yrsa in season 2.
