....... and people like her are the ones who yell their religious rights are being threatened just because they can't inflict their religious beliefs on everyone else in the world...

It doesn't add up to a bag of rat testes if she disagrees with gay marriage or not. Law is law and in her capacity as an overpaid public servant she's obligated to follow the law unless she wants to give up her job to someone who will.

I see a lot of stuff you post that I disagree with so much that I can't even bring myself to reply to it cause I hate starting (or being involved in) internet flame wars.

But this has to be one of the best posts I've seen from you. You stated it proficiently, eloquently, and spot on. icon_biggrin.gif

I get the feeling that she was coerced by right wing religious law firms....from a group like Liberty Counsel. Who is paying for her legal fees?

Thanks to both of you but it's all due to having dealt with people like "her" and all the arguments that they STILL use today since before 1977. Back then there was next to no information available on homosexuality that was not written with the exact same bronze age spin they try to put on it today.

Paul, I have no problem weighing facts and reason against facts and reason. In fact I invite it. The trouble in here is most of the people who disagree with me do so on the basis of their feelings on issues and what they "believe" or wish to to be true.... That makes them as irrational as people who spout off bronze age religious ideology to support things they "wish were true." The bottom line on that is it doesn't matter how many people believe or wish something to be true. Never in the history of civilization have any group of people been able to accomplish that except by force, either silencing or attempting to silence the opinions of others.

I can't remember the last time I heard anything new from anyone spouting off traditional christian dogma on homosexuality. It's the same predictable lame bullshit without a toehold in fact or reason.

I can also tell you there are a hell of a lot fewer of them than there were just 10 years ago. The last one I caught and fucked up was last summer. She was a Pensacola Christian University student who said she'd be glad when they come up for tests so they could tell if a fetus was gay so it could be aborted. She was standing in front of a restaurant with other students yelling at people going in and out that they were going to hell for not stopping abortion...

I felt Like Hannibal Lector when I was done with her... and all I did was ask questions.

Someone should only tax and discriminate against her for being a fat whale.

Yep, because gluttony is a sin and all sinners should be treated as second class citizens under Gawd's law.

    She still refuses to comply.

She turned away a gay couple seeking a marriage license earlier this morning (Thursday, August 13).

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) -- A Kentucky clerk's office turned away a gay couple seeking a marriage license on Thursday, defying a federal judge's order that dismissed her argument involving religious freedom.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis' office turned away David Moore and David Ermold just hours after a U.S. district judge ordered her to do the opposite.

Deputy clerk Nathan Davis says the office was advised by its attorneys with the Christian law firm Liberty Counsel to continue refusing same-sex couples as it appeals the ruling to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

    +1

Although I would doubt that any court clerk in Kentucky is "overpaid". I lived there 2 years. Kentucky has really low wages.

That's my read of it too. I didn't study this in depth but even if he's working out of some religious law firm, that to me is the facial expression of a nonbeliever. He can't believe he's stuck doing this fucking job.

I don't get it - if you *actually* think that your religious beliefs are more important than the job you're hired for - QUIT!

If not - I'm sure you'll have *no* problem when they dock your pay by the percentage of your time that you *should* be performing a job function in accordance with the law, but aren't.

Alternately, you'll have no problem with somebody beating you to death because their religious belief is that people who refuse to do the job they are being paid to do are not people, but parasites detrimental to the rest of the population and so must be killed off so as to avoid contamination. It's not murder, it's pest control - my religion says so......

She and the Christian law firm Liberty Counsel should be held accountable for nuisance law suites.

Bob, " The trouble in here is most of the people who disagree with me do so on the basis of their feelings on issues and what they "believe" or wish to to be true.... "

You've made a few good points and written a few good comments. Don't take a compliment as proof that what you say is always true.

Your vulgar rants on Hillary have nothing to do with "truth" they are emotional outbursts.

"Davis argued that issuing a same-sex marriage license that contains her signature is the same as her approving the marriage, which she said violates her Christian beliefs."

Does her signature guarantee happiness and no divorces too?

"Davis, elected last November as a Democrat, took over the office from her mother, Jean Bailey, who served as county clerk for 37 years, according to the Morehead News. Davis worked under her mother as a deputy clerk for 26 years. Deputy clerk Nathan Davis refused to say if he is related to Kim Davis."

Sounds like it high time to get them out the BIZ! They act like it's their personal fiefdom.

robbaker saidshe's stupid doesn't she know she can profit from this because now they'll be a high rate of gays divorcing since there is no such a thing called Monogamous relationships just like the straights.they'll be lot's of cheating husbands fooling around with them younger boy twinks . same with the lesbiansicon_evil.gif

LOL your so positive, yet you have a point. Us poor single's get way to many invites to be in the middle. Hmmmm??? This can't possibly foster a good, clean, wholesome relationship between 2 men. What will it create? Jealousy? Maybe, unless both partners are submissive cock suckers......OR..?? LOL

It's a way to always have fresh COCK (cake and eat it too) and be sane and pay the rent at the same time.....All with the new marriage benefits???

    Where's my husband already??? LOL

    Be happy, whatever!!
