IMO, I don't think the results are very accurate, but I think it is interesting to ponder about it.

    I got 36 out of 100

    I'm not privileged

What a crock of shit!!!!!!! LOL......

    I scored a 15 and I was honest!!!!!
This test is focused towards impressionable people who have bought into the this fallacious use of the word 'privilege' to create an illusion of social biases out of proportion with reality.

here's 4 questions that are great examples....
What 'privileges' come with being male, comfortable with my gender, identify with my gender, and having never tried to change my gender?

Are we to believe being male, comfortable as a male, identity as a male and never having tried being anything but a male somehow implies a sense of privilege or lack of it???

As you consider answering each question consider how it or it's opposite infers some sort of 'privilege' and you'll see almost none of them really do.

I got 30, but couldn't answer some of the questions because it's worded to assume that everyone has a religion.

I received a 35 which means that I had struggles in my life and that things were quite complicated.

^+1! I didn't and won't take the "test," so as not to add to its ratings or otherwise enhance its credibility. Bobbo's quotes are enough to convince me it's just another load of leftist crap.

I got a 38. I'm more privileged than Metta and Bob. Suck my dick.

But really, a lot of these questions were thought-provoking. While the description of the result wasn't really accurate, there are a LOT of things I don't have, and a several things I have not and will not ever deal with.

You should remember that Buzzfeed is just for fun. They don't take themselves seriously and probably made this test to fight the whole "Check Your Privilege" thing.

Now you can actually check your privilege when someone tells you to do it.

Only 45? I'm surely more privileged than that... I'm disappointed.

I answered all the questions. Even if you are an atheist you can answer the religious ones. Just read the religious ones as your religion or lack there of. Also there was no option for you to not answer any of the questions.

Worst "test" ever. It asks questions like "are you comfortable with PDA?" Assuming if you say "no" you're automatically gay, which is bullshit. I'm gay and I'm totally comfortably with PDA but I have straight friends who are not. Dumb dumb dumb.

I got 33, but just realized that I have been called a dyke. I'm even less privileged than I thought.

I knew you were more privileged than me icon_mad.gificon_biggrin.gif

This just reminds me that privilege can be relative. A good example is that as a massage therapist I get discriminated against a lot do to my sex.

Depending on whether I selected privileges I can pretend to have (such as white, since I am a pale Latino) or privileges that I sort of have (since I am a nerdy virgin, I have rarely ever had to deal with any bullying or discrimination based on my sexuality), the test showed that I have about 40-55 points of privilege. About half of the privileges I can enjoy (gain benefit from) come from my behavior around others. I have a social disability but I have gone to years of therapy to help me with my emotions and social skills. That means, I can often fit in (good enough) with most groups I have ever hung around by only expressing parts of my personality while putting in a great deal of effort in being polite and sociable. I understand that most others I know who share a marginalized identity in common with me cannot pretend to belong to the privileged group.

So, I am moderately privileged. I can pretend to belong to a couple of privileged groups but even when enjoying every benefit of every privilege I can possibly associate with, I doubt I could have more than 60 points of privilege.

None Bob. Not by themselves. I answered it honestly.

It proves that when people say "check your privilege", they have no right to say you are more or less privileged than anyone else. They don't know your life. Every one of us has any number of hardships or has had hardships that have made life difficult.

    How Privileged Are You?

You live with 80 out of 100 points of privilege.

You’re among the most privileged people in the world. We don’t live in an ideal world, but you happened to be born into an ideal lot. This is not a bad thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of. It just means a lot of other people in the world don’t live life with the advantages you have, and that’s something you should always be aware of. Hey, the fact that you took the time and effort to check your privilege means that you’re already trying.

I did exactly that, as well, and got a 90. I suppose that means I have nothing valuable to say, but most of you knew that already icon_biggrin.gif
