So I follow a few fitness people and friends on instagram. One of the people I follow is https://instagram.com/realheidipowell/ She has an amazing body and her husband is the trainer, motivator of the Biggest Looser on ABC.

One woman responded on her instagram that she was having troubles with food cravings after a work out (wanted cookies-high in sugar and bad carbs). I responded back with my recipe that stops food cravings.

Here it is. Please add yours too!! I like to see what others think.

    1. Handful of frozen strawberries in a NINJA blender (large glass)
    2. Handful of frozen blueberries
    3, Handful of frozen raspberries
    4. Squeeze of fresh lemon (whole)
    5. Teaspoon of holistic honey.
    6. Low cal almond milk or coconut water
    7. Small scoop of concentrated multi=green powder mix (Detox agents)

Blend together in the super powerful ninja blender to make one kick ass smoothy. Sip with a straw. Your cravings for cheese, cookies, sweets, chocolate and more will GO AWAY!

If I have a food craving, I normally drink water. Sometimes, one thinks he is hungry when in fact, he is thirsty. It takes the brain a while to process when one is full.

This whole "eat fruit when you crave sugar" doesn't work for me. I crave PROCESSED sugar. Fruit does nothing for my cravings for cake and ice cream. icon_neutral.gif

I am not a big fruit person either. I like apples and when I need to cure my sweet tooth I do the berry smoothy deal. For some reason it works for me and it's a detoxifier also.

Water is a good thing too!! Keeps you hydrated.

2bnaked, your smoothie quells hunger is that it is full of sugar/carbs. The fruit, honey, almond milk or coconut water are all rich in carbs. I don't know abut the green stuff, but there may be some in there, too. A dose of the concoction will do well in satisfying food craving and then cause a release of insulin which will make your body demand more carbs, and on and on.

Some people can resist the urge to give in to this cycle and some of us can't.

    No,
It's the sour in the lemon that kills the craving.

No sugar in the almond milk or coconut milk....
Only small amount in the berries and it's natural fructose sugar and more complex than refined. The powdered greens is sugar free. Its just dried vegetables, maybe a trace amount of sugar.

It knocks it out!! The cravings are gone and any the carbs that are there are better than refined sugar. It's a great post work out drink. You don't need much to satisfy the craving.

Do I look like this smoothie has hurt me? I don't eat any cookies, bread, ice cream and refined sugar!
