I don't know if that's a thing or not but I recently received an email from a cousin who's telling me a story about leaving a play in New York recently and getting annoyed with the crowds but then he and his date wind up walking alongside of two gay guys who were mimicking Trump: so he and his girlfriend join in and then he's again enjoying his time in the city, the group of them now making fun of the candidate.

Without even a political cartoon, it's hard to not view Trump as a caricature of himself.

I had a grade school teacher, I forget which year, a great guy, we all loved him, and he used to make caricatures of all his students in the first week of school. There they'd hang by thumb tack going around the room on top of the chalk boards and then he kept them in books so that he had a drawing of all the students from throughout his career. Cool.

Were Trump one of his students? Fuck the sketchbook. My teacher could have just pasted up a Polaroid. How animated Trump is can be kind of fun. I'll bet he's a blast at a party. But leading a party at a presidential podium? Cartoonists would benefit most.

To within my own lifetime, the Republican party used to be represented by people like Senators Jacob Javits and James Buckley of New York; Richard Lugar of Indiana; Howard Baker of Tennessee; Lowell Weicker of Connecticut; John Danforth of Missouri; Bob Dole of Kansas; John Heinz of Pennsylvania... We actually used to study their speeches in law school, can you imagine.

Whatever they were - or were not - they were men of thought and consideration (yes, Rhodes Scholars, PhDs, doctors of divinity...war heroes).

To think that this uneducated, racist, idiot of a clown has inherited their "leadership" roles...

    It's weep-inducing.

Which is why I am worried... that 2-year-olds, like you, can vote.
