Radd saidWell, although the guy is an ignorant asshole, that's not exactly what he said. He merely stated that the Old Testament says homosexuals should be stoned to death (which is true.)
But we have to see the OT for what it is. Much of it is nothing more than a reflection of ancient Hebrew culture much of which God certainly would not approve. Perhaps it has been included in the OT simply to give us an understanding of ancient Hebrew culture.
Other parts of the OT are simply the history of the ancient Hebrews, no doubt slanted to rationalize the ghastly things they did.
However, the OT also contains examples of kindness, love, charity, etc., and some rules which, if followed, would make the world a better place to live. The Ten Commandments are also good and surely most reasonable people would embrace the last six of them and perhaps instinctively follow them even if they did not know them.
