Weirdly I just saw this on facebook... was surprised how low the allowance is for sugar babies... might as well get a real job. Any sugar babies willing to disclose their "earnings" compared to the average? icon_lol.gif

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidWho's to say that none of these sugar babies have a job? I would imagine some do and get to enjoy another $60-$70K on top of what they make at a regular job.

Do some sugar babies really get 60k???? Jesus Christ I'm in the wrong line of work.

I heard of some getting taken cared for but that's outrageous.

Some rich ugly dude wants me to move in with him and I was seriously considering it, but he lives in Ft. Lauderdale. Eww gross....I'll pass I said...

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidNot sure how much they really make. But I do know of two people (sugar babies) who were given their own condo by their sugar daddies to live in.

When I was in Myknons last year, I went to a pool party with some friends and we met this older slightly chubby gentlemen surrounded by 4-5 much younger very attractive guys. They were all drinking and laughing it up having a good time.

It didn't take long for me to see what this situation was. It was even more clear when he excused himself half way through to go to the ATM to get their allowance...icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Am AMAZED at this thread--AND then the responses! People paying others to be essentially a live-in prostitute and "toy".

"Gays" so casually do this, seem to think it is perfectly fine...yet there was so much sneering contempt to hand out a few dollars to panhandlers and the homeless.

In a way it shouldn't be completely surprising from the viewpoint of the sugar daddy since women have been doing this all along. Many if not most women who are stay at home moms / housewives think that they're entitled to half of their husband's disposable income. Look at the divorce settlements, for example, where they want half of his net worth. Women simply inherently believe that it's the husband's job to be the provider.

What surprised me when I found out about it later in life is that there is a significant percentage of married working women who don't contribute their income the the family; paying the mortgage/rent, utilities, etc. They do whatever they want with their income. I discovered this when my next door neighbor was telling me that she was going to quit her job and I asked her how they were going to make it on just one paycheck. She blithely told me that it wasn't a problem since the husband was paying for everything and her paycheck was split between paying for stabling fees for her horse and the Mexican woman who was looking after their two preschool boys during the day.

Then there was a coworker whose girlfriend was working in a law firm and she was splitting the rent and utilities and such with him. When one of the women lawyers heard that she told her that that was wrong and that it was her boyfriend's job to pay for that.

I told a woman friend of mine about the first case (she was divorced and her kids were grown up and living on their own); she was a nurse. She shrugged and acted like it wasn't surprising and said that many of the nurses at the hospital had that arrangement.

    Bizzare.

I thought just last month I coined the phrase "Splenda Daddies."

My sister, divorcing, was describing her reentry into dating talking about an older man (by several years) who liked buying her things, but cheap things. Like when she walked him into a thrift store and he said "I want to buy you this book." It was $1.

I immediately responded "What is he, a Splenda Daddy?"

    Fake sugar daddy
    Sugar daddy substitute
    sugar daddy wannabe

That's what I was thinking when I quipped it.

I'd never heard the phrase before.

Every time I think I come up with something original for urbandictionary.com it's already on there:

Looks like the age of sugar daddies have dropped along with their salaries?? I guess buying sex/companionship from guys out of your league is increasingly socially acceptable?

    the great recession:
The supply of sugar babies has gone up and all the good daddies are taken. Leaving only Splenda Daddies.

I do find your comment a little narrow minded because even though I'm not personally involved in a Financially Convenient Relationship, this have been done for centuries by women. If you have a moral objection to the sugar daddy/sugar boy relationship you also should put on blast young women that get married to richer men in their 40s or 50s, which have been happening (for centuries) and still happens today.

YOU and other men like you have always been free and had unlimited choices. Women, on the other hand, have always been chattel and/or items to be traded by parents for some social advantage.
