Hmmm, interesting, he had a EEOC lawsuit filed and settled out of court. I can imagine how tough it must be to be gay and black in a professional work atmosphere. I think we need to ask CNN reporter, Don Lemon, who is out, gay and black, what his opinion is, I don't think this man, the shooter is "deranged", although filming the shooting is definitely, Pink Flamingo style

I knew the guy was black and was sorta pissed off that he was fired by that TV company, but I didn't know he was gay as well.

SMH. I'm black and gay myself and I have went off on bosses and shit for being fired for no reason and had tantrums and made scenes. Oh lord help me.

I don't understand why he shot these 2 people, a reporter and a cameraman. Did they have anything to do with him being allegedly fired? If his grudge was with station management, why not target them? (Not that he should target anyone, of course) I don't understand the connection and his motivation.

Yeah, you were "inspired" by Charleston... so you go hunt down people you actually know??? icon_rolleyes.gif GTFO!

Anybody who changes names as an adult AND has sky-fairy deities speaking to them has a lot more going on with them than just issues in the workplace.

    no1curr about this fool. Rest.

How is the Chamber of Commerce lady faring?

Saddest story I have seen in the news in a long time. Really tragic, and so senseless

The now busted Rentboy.com? This shooting and Rentboy bust, with homeland security involved, happens at the same time icon_question.gif

The picture with the black cowboy hat looks very familiar, like I have seen used in gay guide advertisement

He chronicles the "tough times" he's faced, including some "financial crashes." He says he used to work as a male escort but, "I am proud of it" because he "made thousands."

The cameraman had complained about him to HR after working with him one time. The killer claimed the reporter had made racist comments in his presence (which turned out to be her mentioning an address on Cotton Fields Road). It seems like this guy had a history everywhere he worked of imagined slights and grievances. I guess the fact they were doing a live remote near where he was yesterday morning sealed their fates.

I've known plenty of structural discrimination in the workplace, at multiple levels, legitimately affecting persons just like you and I routinely.

And THEN, there's punks like this guy, who I've experienced at multiple tiers in my employment history. Anything that doesn't go their way... or anything that DOES goes their way but not to their satisfaction... they expect to cash in on and make a living off of their exaggerated or imagined experiences.

Someone called it right yesterday on the news: a "professional grievance collector" that makes up slights and discrimination where they don't legitimately exist. And they expect you, a fellow minority in some form or fashion, to help them to break down the palace walls, lest you be deemed an "Uncle Tom or Aunt Thomasina".

Thankfully, we do have the EEOC doing thankless work weeding through the dreck like his stuff for legitimate gripes. But the specter of minorities like this guy make it harder for the folks in the first category to even get a fair shake in the first place.

There was a pawn shop operator in on TV this morning who received a nine page rant two weeks after this guy bought a TV from them. The rant was about the salesperson telling him to "have a good day" instead of saying Thank you.............

I did a search for info on that but couldn't find it.... but found this list of trivia about him...

Vester Lee Flanagan II faxed a 23-page manifesto time-stamped 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to ABC News detailing his motives

In it, the 41-year-old cited June's Charleston, South Carolina church shooting as the final straw, after which he put a deposit on a gun

'And my hollow point bullets have the victims' initials on them' he wrote before gunning down his co-workers Alison Parker and Adam Ward

Flanagan, who went by Bryce Williams on-air, sued a North Florida news station in 2000 claiming he was called a 'monkey' by one of his bosses

He posted a tweet that accused Alison Parker of racism as he was being pursued by cops Wednesday following her on-air murder

Also revealed: Flanagan threw cat feces at neighbors,

had a large sex toy trove,

    drove like a maniac

and covered his fridge with photos of himself

Was he a drug addict? I mean really???

I have been in business for many years and know the pain when someone decides not pay you or go with a competitor. I have always recovered.

Now, did it ever cross my mind to torch the crooks who ripped me off over a 100 Grand? Yes, but better to keep calm and work it out in the courts and let Karma rip em a new hole.....It worked out better that way!!!

BTW....100 Grand is not from being an escort. I am sure my dick would have been rotted off completely!! icon_neutral.gif

Yeah, I love the way Karma does the dirty work for free. 31 years ago a guy ripped me off of $3500. Before I could get him in court a disgruntled girlfriend he'd cheated on walked in the hotel he managed and unloaded a .45 revolver in him. A couple of days later I filed a lien on his pending inheritance (that would have gone to his criminal sons) from his dead grandmother's estate. It took 6 months for them to settle up but I got my money back.

Then there was a toxic alcoholic who knocked all the drinks off the table I was sitting at in a gay bar and wanted to fight us all. After started fights with others and was kicked out he ran a red light three blocks away and a McDonalds delivery truck full of karma did him in.

Sometimes people just snap. Maybe he was having trouble finding another job for what he went to school for, broadcasting/journalism and because the industry ins't that big, maybe word of mouth stopped him from getting a job due to his previous relationships with past companies. We know nothing of this guy, and the fact he was black and gay speaks volumes as we go through so much unfathomable shit.

Nice try, but the common denominator here is guns and their easy availability to anyone with nefarious intent. Of course, the guy might have done the same thing while wielding a knife, but at least one or both victims might have stood a chance - even more so in a church or any other sort of crowded place.
