It is about time that Pennsylvania woke up out of its stupor and addressed issues important to the gay, lesbian, and bisexual communities. It seems to take forever for Harrisburg lawmakers to "get it". That is totally inexcusable for a blue democratic, northeastern state like Pennsylvania to not at least have a strict law on its books prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. Come on Harrisburg lawmakers, wake up, get your heads out of your asses and let's get with iticon_exclaim.gif

I do agree with you Rob that Harrisburg needs to get their heads out of their asses, but, the problem is the House and Senate here in PA is controlled by a bunch of homophobic Tea Party Republicans.

Interesting this is being done w/o Brian Simms as a sponsor of the bill. There is obviously some intelligent folks in the house there allied w/him. Simms was frozen out and not allowed to speak at least once last year by the major "A Hole" PA State House Speaker who is a very virulent homophobe.

I am under the impression that all the crazies left Hayden Lake, ID, and moved to rural PA and stirred up a lot of bad juju. Their current elected officials are part of and reflecting their new constituents sentiments.

That sounds exactly how our senate in New York used to be under the now convicted former leader Senator Joe Bruno who came from a conservative exurban district northwest of Albany. Anything that benefitted gays or other minority groups he would ignore the bill and let it die in committee or he would block the senate from putting the bills on their agenda.
