there's nobody im too excited about this year... i spend most of my time in the sahara tent, so unless they pull in the chemical brothers or something, im likely to sit this year out.

i could go with my friend who works it, but i dont listen to that kinda music so i would be miserable the who time.

but i just think it would be fun to have a vip pass for such a huge concert event haha >_

I was online about to buy my tickets... when something in the back of my mind said to wait. I realized that I was going to be in Atlanta for work that weekend. I was devastated. Have a great time. It is unreal how many great bands are going to be there. Leonard Cohen alone is worth the ticket price. Oh, and in my experience the Cure it pretty terrible live, but it is really fun watching people who are "too sad" to dance trying to keep themselves from dancing to Friday I'm in Love.

what kind of music are you referring to? Coachella covers nearly the full spectrum of music styles.

I kinda want to go. But I only want to see certain bands and they're all playing on different days. Not really worth it for me to go all three days. icon_neutral.gif

well looking at a line up, i have heard of maybe like 5 of the ppl/ bands and dont care for that kind of music.

not to say i dont have a wide range of music i listen to either.

you'll find every eminem album on my iPod along side britney and lady gaga, next to tpain and far to many show tunes.

but the bands they have performing i dont listen to really.

It's $100 per day, plus $17 in service fees. If you buy a 3-day pass, it costs a little less.

Yeah, way too much for the other bands I don't care to see. Plus, no outside food/drinks. I think I heard someone mention that they were charging $5 for a small bottle of water last year. And cash only at the food booths. icon_rolleyes.gif

You heard wrong. Water is $2 a bottle. Very reasonable. After all, you are in the desert... they dont want people dropping like flies.

I usually go....We bring a robot down there that roams the festival grounds, and this year my crew is bringing an interactive dance screen.

I'll be in Mexico, so I can't go. LOTS of bands I'd love to see:

    Leonard Cohen
    The Black Keys
    Ghostland
    Patton and Rahzel
    Bug ft Warrior Queen
    Peanut Butter Wolf
    Switch
    People Under the Stairs

    THATS JUST THE FIRST NIGHT!

    Thievery
    TV on the Radio
    Mastodon
    Turbonegro
    Booker T and DBTs
    Drop the Limo
    Calexico

    MY BLOODY VALENTINE
    Yeah Yeah Yeahs
    The Cure
    Throbbing Gristle
    The Orb
    X
    Public Enemy
    Etienne de Crecy
Plump DJs---->first tour of US EVER<------
    K'naan
    Brian Jonestown Massacre

AND THEN YOU HAVE THE WHOLE DOLAB/LUCENT DOSSIER stage that has the best electronic music at the festival, IMO.

IF YOU GO...CHECK THIS OUT ETIENNE DE CRECY...SICK SICK SICK. It just gets better and better.

I wish I could go. I want to see Lykke Li. She has a really chill album, but her performances are amazing. I fell in love with her at her show. I was having eye sex with her during her show here in LA. I love her.

I was going to go but figured I would go see Franz Ferdinand in NYC instead of watching them do a 30 minute set at Coachella.
I would have loved to go again though. Maybe next year.
M.I.A. and the Raconteurs were outstanding last year and Portishead was awesome too.

Just Saturday, this go-around. One day in the heat is enough.

Camping two years ago was brutal -- I just wasn't made for 113 degrees.
