Call her a moron and a stupid bitch all you want, what's actually moronic is that education in the U.S. costs so much. I don't think she actually expects to sell a non-transferable degree.

She should have done some research before she assumed it was worth majoring in Theater to begin with (especially at FSU). She is the typical college student who wanted an easy major so that they could enjoy the "college experience."

Also, her $40K in debt at a public university with the Bright Futures Scholarship paying 75% or 100% of the tuition tells me that she took out unnecessary loans to enjoy her time there. She should have graduated with less than $12K in debt for a 4-year degree at FSU.

Finally, if she got speeding tickets (which shows a propensity to waste more money), that means she had a car while she was there. Probably paid for by her loans or her parents.

Maybe she should go back to FSU and ask for a refund.

Most degree holders go into careers that have nothing to do with the major they have a degree in The importance is having one mostly.
She just needs to face the fact that she should look into a mundane job while networking in the theater community.

because Americans are just stupid enough to put up with 25 years of cost increases that have NOTHING to do with education

    so who are the idiots?

Shiiiit. You have a bachelors, then when you apply for a job, they tell you you're over qualified. Smh I would try and do whatever it takes to shake that debt off me too. 40k prolly came from student loans.

No one is stupid, some just don't know how this shady American system works which is set up for you to be in debt anyway. Don't be ignorant and be calling everyone that happens to be American "stupid" we All at times do stupid things. Golden rule to living a happy prosperous life is to be humble. icon_idea.gif

    ^^

ok Mr PC "I'm always an idiot victim", that thinking is why we're in the state we are presently in.

Americans look forward to getting screwed:

    by your over-priced dentist
    by your crook stock broker
by your Medicaid hustling whore doctor
    by your car dealer
    by your mortgage broker
by some funeral home dirt bag engaging your emotions

    need I go on?

most Americans are raised and educated to be docile, idiot, sucker pushovers

So...is it OUR fault that the system is the way it is? P.s there's nothing "P.C" about me. You think you know a whole lot but you know nothing. Like I said before be humble before life humbles you.

True, but then the rigor of certain degrees do prepare you for doing some jobs better than the others.

This is why she is in the predicament she is in: the paper has no independent or inherent value, and the only value is inside her fuzzy head.

I sell my degrees as well--by the transitive property--insofar that I offer my services and apply my knowledge to a client's problems. This is also what 99% of degree holders do and she should take note. This is a silly parlor trick for publicity or the WORST business plan ever.

'I thought this piece of paper has so much worth to so many people, but for a theatre major, it couldn’t mean less,' she told BuzzFeed. 'I’m doing the exact same things and probably getting paid the exact same amount as people that dropped out halfway through freshman year, except I’m still $40,000 in debt and they’re, well, not.'

That's exactly why I dropped out of college halfway through, when I first got my Commercial Pilot Certificate. Now I'm out of student debt and making just as much if not more than most of my former classmates.

I have a pair of fake balls she can have. This way she can claim to have some!!

BALLS people!! That's what it takes to survive in the world today. Work...work and then work it harder until YOU get results.

Education? Fine, but most look at it as a 4 year degree in #iparty
