I'd rather see liberalism go to far than conservatism. At least liberals care about "feelings."

I agree, which is why I hated to post it, but this shit really has gone too far.

Everyone is entitled to say what they like, but at the same time other people are entitled to respond. If one fears getting negative feedback or responses, then that is an issue they need to work on.

In my opinion, this article is not using "liberalism" correctly. Liberalism is not about silencing controversial opinions or firing professors for viewpoints that are different from one's own. This article reminds me of the students in the south who refused to read Fun Home by Alison Bechdel because the Bible told them so. These students are using closed, anti-liberal thinking. Still, it certainly is a problem, and I feel for the professor in the article, as a lot of people in my cohort are professors.

The above article was extremely boring. He says he publishes anonymously for fears of getting attacked. Yes, that is an issue he needs to work on.

I had to block out my profile here, it is now hidden, due to people attacking my liberal views with long chains of comments. Incredible since this is a gay site. I will turn it back on once I figure out how to modify it so they can't recognize it.

There are a lot of big government republicans on this site.

    Thanks Quercus. icon_biggrin.gif

That is the trouble with liberalism: putting "feelings" ahead of reality.
