That makes no sense. A female taking testosterone could have higher levels than a male.

just remove the sex requirement from all sports. If you cant compete with other people, join a different league. Sports are not a serious pursuit, it doesnt really matter if you play or dont on a certain team. It is just a game to remain healthy.

Makes no sense. I thought steroid use was not allowed in sports.

I could be wrong but I believe if you're transitioning they might can get around that.

Someone should tell this lawmaker that he is a brain dead, bumbling idiot for coming up with such a ridiculous and offensive law. icon_mad.gif

I agree. But then he's a Republican, and that seems to be the norm for Republican lawmakers these days. The nuttier they are the more their "base" loves them.

Just look at Donald Trump's lead in Republican polls. And you can't get much nuttier than him.

Yes you can. Look at Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, and Rick Perry, they are all one hundred times nuttier the "the Donald" could ever be.

It would be great for gender equality but we are decades from that happening. As much as many men and women claim the sexes are equally the vast majority still see women as weak and in need of protection. Our society is built upon that notion.

I remember 'sex testing' being implemented for the 1976 Olympics, doubtless owing to those rather burly East German women shot putters et al (whom history has since recorded were indeed women, but on an anabolic steroid regimen that would make Ben Johnson blush). Princess Anne was one of the few Olympic women competitors to be exempted from testing, as her gender was apparently beyond dispute. Hmm.

What if they are Hermaphrodite or half way through a 'Sex-change'? This could cause a lot of confusion. Why don't they just ask for a Birth Certificate? This would solve a lot of hassles.

It seems a pattern that Republican politicians are inordinately interested in the genitals and sexual practices of other people. hmmmm....
