I know, the topic sounds like an oxymoron, but my partner and I are taking his family to Daytona for his mother's birthday. We need a nice restaurant with exquisite food. Any suggestions?

I don't remember the names, but I've eated at some really nice places along A1A when I used to go there for Bike Week. Just park in a garage and walk. You'll find a spot within a few minutes.

I've been to Daytona so many times - even out of season - that I could pretty much pass as a local. Trust me, there ARE great restaurants there, with the price tags and food quality you'd expect from a major metro area's "fine dining."

WE're back. We went to "Aunt Catfish" (local on-the-water seafood) for dinner on Friday. Quite good and reasonably priced. For dinner on Saturday we went to Hyde Park Steakhouse in the Hilton on the beach...excellent food and service and strongly recommended.

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't been to Daytona in years (on my motorcycle, of course), and couldn't advise you in your thread. Even back then I was stopping at scruffy little beach places along A1A, where my riding leathers would be allowed. Nothing that met your criteria.
