I decided to try out the Grindr app.

The first guy I met was a weirdo, but the second guy I met has long-term potential!

He's older than me, and a daddy, which is what I like, lives nearby, owns his own house, has a job, and we get along in and out of the sack.

I've already treated him out to dinner, he's cooked me dinner and made me lunch, and last weekend he had me over to his cottage up north for a couple of days of relaxation.

    Grindr isn't just for hookups!

This guy is better than any guy I've met through the normal dating sites.

I'm glad it worked for you but please be careful. (As for me, I just uninstalled grindr the other day...)

That sounds like a hookup to me. But apples to oranges, to mangoes to limes.

Glad you had a good experience experimenting lol.

Best wishes! You know what they all say, Grindr is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get.

Congrats for you, that's awesome!!! But yes be careful with Grindr, 80% of the experiences I have had on there were all bad.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidThat's really great to hear (or rather, read).

I met my guy on Scruff and we've been together for about seventeen months total.

I think it is possible to meet someone on an app if you are willing to lower your standards.

    Fixed that for you!!!

Wait, I was always told Grindr was for desperate shallow over inflated morons. Was I wrong, or is that the sort you were searching for?

You can find desperate shallow inflated morons anywhere, including RJ apparently as evidenced by your post icon_wink.gif

I think it is possible to meet someone on an app for something long term.

I also met my boyfriend on Scruff, we had our first anniversary together last month and we thank Scruff developers and creators every single day, because if it wasn't for the app, our paths wouldn't have crossed at all.

Congrats to the OP, but just give yourselves some time before getting too excited about the future.

I wish there was a location-based app like this that wasn't about hookups. I have no moral problem with hookups; I'm just not looking for one. It would be cool to know who the other gay dudes were around and what their interests were. I checked out Grindr when it first came out and deleted it pretty quickly.

I met someone yesterday; he totally threw me around the bed, and ate my face. It's okay because I didn't reply anything when he said "Let's do this again."

I am glad that you found someone on Grindr. ^^ I actually had a really nice encounter on Grindr in CA for the whole summer. He was really sweet and nice. We could have been boyfriends if I happened to live in CA; I couldn't open my heart to him because it was not the time. icon_smile.gif
